Excuse me, but I've been trying to get the fish the entire Winter season (also with the magic bait when I made it into Spring) and have yet to find any.
So I spawned one in my inventory using CJB Item Spawner, checked the fish info and compare it with other fishes using the Lookup Anything mod, and I found out that there's no "spawn rules" for the Pearl Fish.
I'd say something in your mod list is overriding them. May I see a log via smapi.io? And could you also type Patch Export Data/Locations and send me the file from the folder with that name (you will find after you do a patch export a folder labelled "Patch Export" or similar in your main Stardee folder).
It's probably Stardew Valley Expanded. They don't add ocean fish for winter, but their code is probably overwriting mine anyway. I'll try adding in a dependency so that mine loads second.
The mod is working and the fish is beautiful, but it doesn't produce any pearls when in a fish pond.
When I examine the fish, it displays as only having two gates, one requiring bait and the other wild bait, and only producing Pearl Fish Roe at all population levels.
Interesting I must have copied the wrong fish pond data.
I'll add to it later.
Edit: okay so it appears thar fish pond data is more complicated than I had thought and I need to make some adjustments. Will try and get it working tomorrow.
I've been trying to catch this fish for a while now, and I'm assuming it's just really rare to snag on the line. I just have a few questions regarding places it can be caught. I know it says the beach after 5pm; can it be caught deep sea fishing at the beach during the winter market? Can it be caught on Mermaid Island? Can it be caught on the beach at the Stardew Aquarium? I also just wanted to get reassurance I guess for catching it. It is a blank spot in my collections log, and even the aquarium has a spot for me to donate it, so I know everything is installed correctly, just hoping for confirmation on the rarity of hooking it.
Sadly I couldnt make it fishable in the sub. So only the ocean. Do you have a mod that changes fishing abilities? If you could send me a smapi log - just in case you've actually got another mod overriding it!
Here's my most recent log, I am using a lot of mods but none that directly affect my fishing skill or the fishing rod. Thank you so much for checking! I will keep trying and if it finally pops outta the ocean for me I'll be sure to notify you here right away. :)

Also it doesnt spawn in the ES Orchard currently either as I've yet to add that patch into the actual mod.
