Hana's Stardew Valley Gender Neutrality Mod
The goal of this mod is to change dialogues directed at the player to be gender neutral and to remove certain gender specific parts of the game. This should allow you to play through the game without being gendered. This mod is made specifically for those of us who wish to play through the game as a gender neutral / nonbinary character. This mod is for Stardew Valley v1.5+
Installation
The new installation method is rather simple, just follow these steps!
- Install the latest version of SMAPI.
- Install the latest version of Content Patcher.
- Install the latest version of GNMTokens. (if using version 4.0.0+)
- Install the latest version of Generic Mod Config Menu. (optional, but recommended)
- Download this mod and unzip it into Stardew Valley/Mods.
- Run the game using SMAPI.
Toggling Content
!!! Changes to the config will not take effect until you save them, then relaunch the game !!!
The easiest way to toggle content for this mod is to use the Generic Mod Config Menu. This will allow you to toggle content from the mod at the title screen of the game! The Generic Mod Config Menu also shows details of what each setting does, so please look there for more information!
If you decide not to use the Generic Mod Config Menu you can still toggle content manually by editing the "config.json" file within the mod's folder. Details for this will be provided in the articles section at a later date!
Pronoun Configuration

Pronoun Configuration for version 4.0.0+ is now found in the GNMTokens Config!!!
The easiest way to configure custom pronouns/nouns is once again to use the Generic Mod Config Menu (link above). This will allow you to configure your pronouns/nouns from the mod at the title screen of the game! The Generic Mod Config Menu also shows details of what each setting does, so please look there for more information!
FOR MULTIPLE PRONOUNS: When adding custom pronouns/nouns you can use multiple sets of pronouns seperated by commas. (For Example: "He, She, They" would select randomly between all three of those pronouns each time they appeared.)

What This Mod Does
- Changes the dialogue of all the characters to have them use gender neutral terms to refer to you.
- Removes the gender symbols in the character creation menu, allowing you to simply choose between body types with a 1 or a 2.
- Allows you to enter either door at the Spa.
- Changes Grandpa's Dialogue in the Intro!
- Changes the Marriage Dialogue!
- Allows you to choose your pronouns and nouns via configuration settings! ~NEW!~

I will do my best to fix it as soon as possible!As of version 2.0.0 I have officially dropped support for the xnb version of this mod. If anyone has a good reason I should bring it back please let me know.
