after several requests, you can now toggle on or off any portraits for any villager! this should allow compatibility with other portrait mods you'd like to use :)
I absolutely love this mod, some of the npc's portraits are really kinda ugly and this fixes it while still looking vanilla ! I just have one issue with Magnus, when ever he makes expressions that aren't neutral his portrait goes back to the vanilla one. Literally perfect mod otherwise.
im obsessed with this portrait mod, the art is so amazing <3 my q is- are you at all planning to include an option to have the choice to use the old Sam portrait? just so i know if i should save the old version before updating ^^
unfortunately i don't plan to include him as an option since it'd give him 4 configs which is. a Little Much lmfao so yeah you could save his old set and replace the new ones with it. he wouldn't have a set for his winter outfit though unfortunately and there is also a single new portrait for him for spirit's eve that would show up blank if you use the old set
Just wondering if there are overworld sprites somewhere for the options with more obvious changes (like braids Maru and ginger Sebastian). Anyway thank you for this mod, I love it :)
This might be a stupid question but is this compatible with Diverse Stardew Valley? Some of the villagers I left vanilla I'd like to use your portraits for instead
I've just tried them together - they are somewhat compatible. DSV seems to override, so if you have a character's DSV version turned on, that will be the version you see, but if you have someone set to "off" on DSV (and have vanilla facelift also installed) then you will see the vanilla facelift version. I haven't delved into the cultural house edits or other details from DSV, but I have no reason to believe they wouldn't show up with vanilla facelift installed.
I absolutely LOVE the art of this mod! The artwork is so well done and feels so much more "in-style" than the default vanilla portraits, imo.
If at all possible, could this mod be made compatible with "Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic" by Poltergeister? I'm expecting the answer to be "no", which is perfectly fine, because I already know it'd be a sh*tload of work to make that happen, both art-wise and presumably coding-wise. It'd just be nice to have the portraits from this mod also match the seasonal outfits provided by SOSCA (the mod itself provides this, but uses the default vanilla portraits).
But again, I'm expecting the answer to be "no" and I'm perfectly fine with that! I just figured there'd be no harm in at least posing the question to begin with. :)
while vanilla facelift will eventually have outfits for each season & festival (eta probably sometime this summer), i wont be using any art or designs from SCA and the two wont be compatible
hii would you ever consider making ur own versions of https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/19181?tab=files Alyne wizard and marnie portraits I think it would look so cool in your style, also making more expressions for cute wizard since he is so pretty I really want a romanceable compatibility if thats possible its ok if not but still keep the good work !!
