So the auto reel function doesn't seem to be working in its entirety. It does skip the minigame, but does not automatically reel the fish into the player inventory.
Auto Reeling only makes the player skip the minigame (the reeling part) but it still requires for the player to actually pull the fish manually from water when it bites.
I followed the directions for the configuration, and its not working. The config file automatically generates as a .CGF file. I copied and pasted the contents on Code Beautify and made the changes, saved it as an XML and replaced the svfishmod.cfg (which in the folder is a CGF file) with the proper name, and the altered options don't work at all.
See the "Configuration" section of the README.md file on the repository https://github.com/KDERazorback/SvFishingMod or view the Markdown formatted file on the Docs tab here on Nexus.
Its just a plain text file, you can either browse the file system and edit it with any text editor you have installed, or transfer it to a PC, edit it and place it back into the mods folder
Great mod!! This will come in handy, I have to do some testing for my own mod involving artifacts from fishing treasure - this will let me catch instantly and always find treasure.
May I suggest you refactor to use the SMAPI Config API? It creates a config file that will be much more familiar to players, and it takes care of all your read & writes for you. You can still add whatever validation checks or other fancy functionality you need by making custom getters and setters for your config properties.
And yes, i'm currently planning on switching to SMAPI Config API in the near future, but right now im working on some extra multiplayer improvements i want to ship before getting into that.
This mod does not replace the (entire) file Fish.xnb, does it? After TEh's fishing overhaul stopped working, I've been looking for vain for a fishing mode that would work with StardewFinnish (as all of them replace the full xnb. That translation mode replaces full xnb:s. Result: conflict). And I end up making a haphazard fishing mode of my own by making a second version of the Fish.xnb-file. Sigh.
No, it does not replace the Fish.xnb file, it just injects its functionality directly into the game executable without modifying any game asset or XNB package at all.
