Hi! If I want different options for the same spouse, I'm guessing I would create a new folder (like "Sam2") and put the files in there, then configure the children.json folder for "Child_Sprites"": "Sam2" - is that right? Or do I just put them all in the same "Sam" folder?

Hello, would it matter that PolyamorySweet messes with how children are generated? I know you are able to have an actual child (not an adopted one) as same sex couples, would that somehow break things?
Hi :) The sprites for the children are in the assets folder. For example, if you marry Sam, the children will use the folder 'Sam'. If you marry a player, there will be no folder with that name. The Children will use then assets/Natural/Default (or assets/Adopted/Default). You can change this in the children.json under 'Child_Sprites'. Simply enter an available folder here. You can also copy a folder, swap pngs as you like (hair, clothes etc are all separately in png) and rename it, e.g. 'ourChild'. Then write in children.json: "Child_Sprites": "ourChild",
Heyy ^^ Love the mod but for some reason, I'm not getting a girl child (can't figure out which of my mods causes it) and I don't want both of my boys looking the same since I'm thinking of getting the other one a different portrait. Is there any way I could get the sprites to match the different boys?

Hello! We have narrowed our multiplayer issues down to this mod. I am not sure why but even when all players have the same version of the mod installed we often get the following error in our SMAPI log and the player trying to join seems to join and then quit from the perspective in-game.
[game] Online farmhand 4720626570755570672 is in the wrong poll group. Closing their connection.
Occasionally the log also throws another message though not consistently.
[game] Changing net field parent for '' collection from '' to ''.
Here you go~ I want to specify that this error does occur with or without any other mods- it is specific to Unique Children it seems, and we have narrowed it down tonight that it seems to allow the first friend to join our multiplayer game and not the second, it doesn't matter which friend is the first to join it will let them in without issue and then the second person cannot connect.
Confirmed with all friends they have the same modlist and versions that I am running and again tested this with only Unique Children installed.
Thank you very much for the log! Hm, not exactly same mod list, one has 32 mods and the other one 20. But I think that doesn't matter.

Does it work with the new mod version 3.7? If not, I'll ask around what could be the problem. Because I don't know what I can do about it at the moment.

I'm not sure if I could summarize it much better. But it does seem to be related to sending some network message to farmhands before they have been approved to connect. Which causes an error and cause this issue.

Sorry I have had a hard time with finding the time to connect with friends to test this since I last posted - yes in the log posted we had different mods as this was after our initial testing to confirm which mod was causing us issues - we added your mod back to show what was ocurring but didn't otherwise update the mods we had been playing with that evening. Removing Unique Children we were able to go right back to playing normally and without issue.
My husband and I are unable to recreate this just ourselves as it does seem to require 3 or more connections to cause the issue Toriad elaborated on. I appreciate you looking into this and hope it is able to be fixed.

You probably get this question a lot, but does this work with SVE? Because I was thinking of adding this to a multiplayer game between me and friends. But while I can change the child png to look like the different spouses, to my understanding my friends can't do it for their SVE spouse since it uses the hosts files.
Thanks in advance for the assistance and also for making this mod. There used to be one I used called 'Children take after spouse' but yikes outdated. Plus them being able to talk is neat in your other mod.
