Hello! First, this is one of the best QOL mods I've ever seen in my life, so THANK YOU OMG. Second, there are still eating noises during the Gus omelet event. Got jumpscared with them and had to skip :( Any chance you could eliminate these eating noises in a future update?
thank you so much for updating! i've been manually muting the game whenever i need to eat things, so i was missing this mod (but i also didn't want to be a pest about updates, since i don't know how busy you are)
edit: whoops, may have spoken too soon, it seems like after i disabled the drinking sounds as well, the eating sound came back? i'm in the middle of a day so i can't easily quit to test exactly what's going on, but i'll follow up after i get to a point where i can save and do more exploration.
edit 2: was too tired last night to follow up on this, so the next RL day. it looks like the generic config menu support might be part of the problem: if i toggle the "disable drink sound" checkbox from the in-game menu, it a) doesn't save the change to disk, b) breaks the misophonia mod for the rest of the session.
if i edit the config file, then it seems to work properly (as long as i don't try to change the setting mid-session).
i'm playing on linux, in case that information is helpful.
First of all, thank you so much for the report! I would have never known this without you. And feel free to pester me constantly about my mods because I want to fix them and make them be helpful, especially this one!
What version of the generic mod config menu mod are you using? I believe 1.12 is the one that added support for SDV 1.6 I don't think running on Linux is the issue, but if it might be I'll set up a dual boot on my machine.
I'm unable to reproduce it right now, but I'm looking into the config issue today. If I find the root cause I'll upload a new version and let you know!
i'm running generic mod config 1.12.0. the only thing i can think of in that vein is that i do have a mod that requires generic mod config options, which hasn't recently updated (but the list at https://smapi.io/mods suggests it's compatible), but i wouldn't think that would interfere with a mod that wasn't actually using those facilities.
if there's anything else you'd like me to check, i'll happily do so.
I love this mod so much!! Can I request removing the water sounds from the watering can? Refilling and pouring over crops. You are such a life savior, I completely forgot about the sounds but this is a download right away!
I didn't realize how much I needed this until I went to the Stardew Valley Fair in multiplayer and a friend's sense of humor led him to eat ten hamburgers in a row
by the time I even started to connect the dots it felt like the back of my head wanted to undergo nuclear fission (if that makes any sense)
now I can actually get coffee speed boosts throughout the day without having to brace for it
First of all, many thanks! the eating sound is terrible for me.
I installed version 3.0 and lost all short sounds (walking, opening boxes, etc.). Then I installed 2.0 and it works as it should, it only deactivates the eating sound. No other mods instaled. I will use the 2.0 version :)
FIXED! Hey, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just uploaded version 3.0.1 that fixes this! Feel free to try it out and let me know how it works for you!
tl;dr is that I forgot to disable a debug/testing feature and compiled the wrong version which accidentally got uploaded.
My sincere apologies for not being thorough on the upload.
As someone with misophonia, I appreciate this mod a lot. Personally, the noises in SDV don't bother me, but I'm so glad that this exists for those who are bothered.
Hey folks, on the positive news the new update brings a UI to the configuration page! Just scroll down to the bottom and you'll see it. No more manually editing the JSON file if you don't want to!
In other news, I haven't figured out how to remove the bee sound yet because that's a long sound that is tied in with birds, so removing that would also remove the birds. But first I'd have to find out where that is even stored.
But it IS possible to remove just about ANY sound that is made in a short period of time (the walking sound, the splashing sound, the bat flapping its wing sound). I don't want to overwhelm users with a massive list of sounds, but if you have a requested sound I should be able to put it in.
The code simply checks if a sound is about to be played, checks to see if that sound is supposed to be removed, and won't play the sound if it's on that list of sounds to disable.
