In this update there is no dialogue changes, but I would like to do some dialogue changes in the next update. It's difficult to get all the translations updated at once, so I'm delaying dialogue changes until I do a big update. Thanks for your interest!
I encourage it :) I used to integrate them into the Jade mod itself as a setting but as I'm not really updating Jade anymore, I have no issues with people publishing them individually.
Hello, thanks for the mod. I always love new NPCs to make the town more alive.
I just have a smal question: What do I need to write in the confic for Jade to live at the bording house? It is saying default, but idk what the default is, so yeah? ^^'
Glad you're enjoying the mod! "default" means Jade prioritizes living in Juliet's house. if Jessie & Juliet isn't installed, she'll live in the Boarding House. If neither are installed, she'll live in the Woods area.
If you want to force Jade to spawn in Boarding House even if Jessie & Juliet is installed, just set this line in config.json (or use Generic Mod Config Menu to do it graphically) "jadeOverrideHomeLocation": "boardinghouse"
More options are available under the Configuration header on the main page.
Hello! I'm really sorry if this is a silly question. I'm new to mods. Yours looks really cool. I don't have the clerks mod or the boarding house mod. I was wondering if I could make Jade move into Athanaeri Corner? Like, maybe in the mod files or something? If this isn't an easy question to answer, please ignore me! https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9159
It wouldn't be too hard, I've made Jade as modular as possible to allow people to expand on the mod like this. The main issue would be making the map for the house which you would need to do in Tiled. Besides that, you could look in the 'mods' folder inside the Jade mod to see how I implement changes that only appear when a certain mod is installed. content.json is also important here, you can see how I use DynamicTokens to handle spawning and how I use conditions at the bottom of the file to load files from the 'mod' folder.
This is something I would definitely consider (because imo the more Jade options the better!) if it wouldn't be too much feature creep. I already feel bad about leaving an empty room in the boarding house if Jade's not installed or living elsewhere!
Perhaps I'll write some documentation for Jade so its easier for people to add their own spawn locations and portraits etc. without relying on replacing files.
(Alternatively, I could just give in and finally give Jade a house in the vanilla map somewhere if I can find a decent spot.)
so i have an event where I need zoro and jade to be at the boarding house. I notice at the older post that if I have Juliet and jessie and this mod install that she lives at Juliet and Jessie's house? Will she stop by at the boarding house?
Unfortunately there is no way to activate that event with Juliet installed currently. I would like to add the config option to select where Jade lives, but that's not currently being worked on.
EDIT: The option to choose where Jade lives has been added in v2.4.0.
As the description says, please delete the old folder and paste the new one. This isn't necessary for every mod, but can help prevent issues and is highly suggested for mine.
Oh thank you I've just noticed the update instructions under "installation" title, sorry. So I believe that means we will need to update Jade's settings everytime via Generic Config Mod? I use the Aeryin portraits.
Yes, deleting the CP folder will wipe this mods config which is stored in config.json. You can backup that file or set your values back with GMCM/manually.
Some patches in this mod look for certain files to exist/not exist, which is why cleanly installing the folder is a good idea between updates. I also tend to rename and organize files differently between updates because I am indecisive, so it's probably a good idea anyway.

I'll do an overhaul of the scripting sometime in April for 1.6, but v2.4.0 should be usable until then.
EDIT: Mod has been updated for 1.6.

'Hey, have you seen Jade?'
'Which one, the misanthropic, cynical b****, or the more magic-oriented Jade?'
