Okay, I've been struggling for a while because I couldn't quite understand how it all worked but I figured it out and I will depart my knowledge here in case anyone else is having problems ;D
STEP 1: First, install SMAPI, content patcher, and the toolkit - ALL your prerequisites. Don't install Portraiture just yet (if you haven't already)!
STEP 2: MAKE SURE that all your other portraits or edits of Krobus (anything that can override this mod) has been removed. For instance, I had to remove him from my "Seasonal Outfits" mod folder.
STEP 3: You download the "Eirenel's Krobus sprite CP" file. Extract it into your Stardew Valley/Mods folder. Open the content.json file and edit the "FromFile": "assets/(insert white or standard here).png", to resemble which version you want. EXAMPLE: "FromFile": "assets/White.png", DON'T touch anything else in that folder. I recommend loading up your game to see if the sprite has loaded and is working. If it isn't, you've done something incorrectly.
STEP 4: Install Portraiture. Create a folder in Stardew Valley/Mods/Portraiture/Portraits EXAMPLE: Stardew Valley/Mods/Portraiture/Portraits/Eirenel's Krobus Portrait (that's what I called mine)
STEP 5: You download the "Eirenel's Krobus portraits" file. Extract it. Remove the version you want. I've done everything correctly but the sprite still isn't working :( I haven't touched anything at all in the folder. It defaulted to White.png so I didn't even touch that.

И что я после этого не пробывала: и переименовывала png, и закидывала портрет в мод который давал сезонную одежду для фан персов и даже не трогал Кробуса, и немного меняла название мода Seasonal Cute Characters, чтобы поднять его выше по типу файла, чтобы даже если в теории существовал другой мод, который мог менять Кробуса, то программа не выбирала его, так как уже имела спрайты портрета. В общем, если у автора есть хотя бы какие-то идеи, то буду очень рада послушать, спасибо за внимание <3
Привет! Я, конечно, понимаю, что уже поздно. Но я решила проблему следующим образом. Я просто распаковала этот архив на рабочий стол, переименовала файл со спрайтом Кробуса отсюда (выбрала White и переименовала на Krobus) и закинула в папку [CP] Seasonal Cute Characters\assets\Characters, заменив лежащий там файл с названием Krobus. Так же с портретами Кробуса, переименовать нужный png файл с портретами Кробуса в Krobus и закинуть в папку [CP] Seasonal Cute Characters\assets\Portraits, согласившись на замену файла. В файле config (Seasonal Cute Characters) "ExtraOutfits": "false" (вместо true), "SlightlyCuterKrobus": "true" Все работает без установки PyTK, Portraiture, Eirenel's Krobus sprite CP и других, все через Seasonal Cute Characters с заменой файлов.
i have portrait and seasonal sprite mods for everyone, which included krobus (Vanilla Facelift / Seasonal Cute Characters). I copied and pasted the portrait and sprite images into each of the aforementioned mods' folders, and deleted the ones of his in there. Then everything worked!
You'll have to decide whether you want the white version or the standard version and delete the folder you don't want. Then you have to drag the png file out of its subfolder (take it out of the folder named "white" or "standard" depending on which one you chose). This means the "Krobus.png" should be directly inside the "Eirenel's Krobus portraits" folder. Then open the game and talk to Krobus and while the dialogue box is open, press P. This should work :)
