When asking for help or reporting a bug, upload your SMAPI log and add a link to your message. This has useful info like what versions you have, which mods are installed, what happened in the game, etc. Please do this even if you don't see an error in the log.
Current known issues:
Some fish spawn rules aren't shown. Stardew Valley 1.6 completely redid how it worked; Lookup Anything partly supports the new fish format, but it'll still need a lot of work to support fully. It's on my list to look into when the dust settles on the 1.6 updates.
Certain monster drops are dynamically generated in code and won't appear in the monster lookup as a possible drop.
On some keyboards (especially for laptops), you might need to press FN and F1 together instead. You can also change it to a different button, either by editing the config.json file or by using Generic Mod Config Menu.
Thanks for your work, really enjoy this on PC. To get it going on Android (with a controller), I don't suppose you could add the shortcut to L3 (stick click) too? I'm not having much joy with getting mapping tools to send F1 correctly.
Self fix was to add "LeftStick" in the config in place of "F1", ref this list.
Works really well in the overworld, and particular pages like NPCs in the menu. The only major one I'm hungry for is for it to trigger info for whatever has the finger pointer over it in the main inventory!
"Bug" report: "Night Market Submarine" shows up in all Seasons for fish that can be found in it, even though the location is only accessible during a Winter festival.
Surprisingly, sometimes a trip to the wiki is still required for viewing certain missing basic info, such as food effects (energy/health/buffs/duration). This could be added using or imitating the existing vanilla tooltip which shows this information, whenever a food item name is mousedover, so GUI space is saved and if you're viewing a list with multiple recipes, allowing to compare the results without needing to open each food item separately.
Another missing info is how to obtain the item you're looking up for ways that aren't crafting/cooking recipes. This might be troublesome to determine for all items programmatically, or not... since I imagine it's possible for the item to be programmatically looked up in data such as shop lists, fishing data, forage/artifact spot drops, monster drops, etc. Maybe this is slow and if this is a performance issue, the info could be compiled and waited for only after the player specifically requests it (and possibly cached for subsequent lookups), or it's always compiled but the rest of the LA GUI is shown first and it's added last, post-display.
For the existing case of crafting/cooking recipes for the currently viewed item, maybe the name of the item in the crafting recipe should be bolded to make it more obvious it's the recipe for what you're looking up.
Be able to open up search (shift-F1) while currently lookingup anything? Currently you need to close the LA GUI first.
Support for 'back' button, mainly useful for mouses that have it bound to an extra button (often by default). Pressing inventory/ESC/the GUI 'X' already functions as 'back', so that would just be a matter of an extra keybind. Adding complementary support to the 'next' button to a new effect that undoes 'back' could be possible.
Ability to configure certain fields to show up but always start collapsed (I may set this on 'Neutral gifts, 'Disliked gifts', 'Fish spawn rules', etc), so they're temporarily viewable without running multiple times to the mod settings and still don't always take up space.
NPC names clickable to go to their page (i.e. if I'm shown "Likes this: Robin", I can click on "Robin" and find out what else she likes)
When viewing a recipe, being able to tell if the player character has already learned it or not (tooltip? color? icon?). Also, I imagine finding the way to get the recipe isn't programmatically viable so that would still be a wiki trip to see what a human specifically wrote about it.
A GUI button to open (in your default browser) the Stardew Wiki entry for whatever you're currently looking up.
Be able to F1 on icons of grayed out (unlearned) cooking recipes to find out what they are?
How do I report a bug? because certain things keep disappearing and reappearing in the thing when I look stuff up like pepper rexes and dust sprites and its really becoming an issue
is the incubator somewhat considered a machine? It appears by default when a coop is upgraded to a big coop and with mods it is craftable but using lookup anything the incubator does not show which egg it can take in. Would it be possible to add that function?
Would be particularly useful for monster incubator and modded incubator like the one from dwarven expansion and eggs from an unknown origin big pictures warning:
Hi! That means she's a non-social NPC who doesn't have a birthday, gift tastes, friendship points, or anything else which Lookup Anything can show.
Her wiki article says she's social, so it's possible that SVE unlocks her social features later or you're looking at a non-social clone of the original NPC. Does the same thing happen if you look her up directly, instead of through the search UI?
If I use the lookup function (shift-f1) I get the non-social version. It says "Internal ID ScarlettFake". If I look her up through the relationship tab or directly, then I get the full readout including birthday and relationship and schedule. Still accurate as of 1.51.
There doesn't seem to be any way to access the real Scarlett through search, and finding her in the relationship tab can be a pain. She does start out antisocial and unlocks, but she has been unlocked for a long time in my current game.
I don't see a reason why the real Scarlett wouldn't be listed off-hand. Can you create a zip of your save folder and full Mods folder, upload it to a site like catbox, and post the link here?
The mods zip file seems to be broken, so its files can't be extracted correctly by either 7-zip (see errors) or Windows (see error). Did you use a custom zip tool to create it?
Long story short, I adore this mod and it's a must have for everything from vanilla+ to 1000 mod behemoths.
I adore everything you do and I am tremendously thankful for all of your hard work! -- That said, is there anyway to adjust the position of the "How many owned" field? I'd love to have that near the top for a quick glance.
Hi! Unfortunately not, but you could try enabling the "force full screen" option through Generic Mod Config Menu. That will make more content visible at once, so you won't need to scroll to see the 'owned' field as much.

Backup save folder: https://litter.catbox.moe/1ccy7n.zip
Hopefully this helps. Files should be accessible for roughly 3 days, please let me know if you don't get around to them and need me to re-post.
The saves zip is fine though.

If not, all is well.
Again thank you so much! Cheers!
