I had the same doubts as other posters regarding whether this mod was working in Stardew Valley 1.5.5. After testing it, I'm confirming that the mod works just fine! What is not said on the mod description page, probably as an effort to focus on essential information, is that to get the mod to work requires 2 steps (at least in my experience): 1) Launch your save, craft and install the first beehouse on this save (you can craft more if you want). Clicking on the beehouse with a flower will do nothing at this point, it is normal. Now, quit the game. 2) When reloading the game, the functionality of the Adaptable bee house will finally kick in: now you can click on any crafted beehouse object with a flower, and the flower will be consumed as well as kickstart the honey creation process.
Enjoy! And thank you so much for the mod creator for creating + sharing with us such a brilliant mod.
I know this is an older question but I'm confirming that the mod works for Stardew Valley 1.5.5. It does require to craft and install the first beehouse on a save, then quit the game. When reloading the game, the functionality of the Adaptable bee house (namely clicking on the beehouse object with a flower to be consumed), will finally kick in.
So this is essentially a new kind of beehive that:
a) produces different levels of honey quality, up to iridium, and b) reacts to anything in range considered a flower OR a fruit tree ?
Two questions: 1) is the honey quality independent of the flower/fruit modifier? If so, how is the quality determined: Farming skill level, time (like the Fruit trees)? 2) do the non-Fruit trees - like the Tree Nut ones added by PPJA - also add a modifier?
Or am I completely misreading this, and the idea is that you have to actively add flowers and/or fruit to the beehive as though it was a Farming machine?
For anyone wondering about inter-mod interactions, as of v1.1.0: - Any and all flowers I've tested work, including, but not limited to, the flower(s) of: Ancient Crops, Bonster's Crops, Cannabis Kit, Mouse-Ear Cress, Pufferchick Set, Lucky Clover, Marsh Mallows, More Than Forage, Spoopy Valley, Mizu's Flowers, Farmer to Florist, Fish's Flowers, Yoseiri's Crops, and, of course, vanilla Stardew Valley. - As for tree fruits, only vanilla Stardew Valley and PPJA More Trees tree fruits will work, as *all* other mods I've tested lack the appropriate context tags on their tree fruits. Tested with Bonster's Crops, Guava Tree, Mae's Trees, Marsh Mallows, Mermaid Island, Forage to Farm, Spoopy Valley, and Metal Trees, and all lack the context tags... or any context tags. Today I learned that items can have context tags... Neat. - Great mod and really interesting. As soon as I saw it, I just had to test it out.
Thanks for doing the testing and figuring out what works and what doesn't ^^. I'm glad you learned something new. ^^ I probably won't update anything on this mod as it does literally what i created to and with the tweaked values, it gives more usage for harvested flowers while not overwhelmingly forcing the player to farm flowers more than normal crops.
