Really bad at fishing? Just don't care for the minigame? Here's a simple workaround.
HOW IT WORKS
Sets the "difficulty" of every fish to "0", enabling guaranteed catching of anything you reel in. This means that when the fishing screen pops up, the little fish image will sit at the bottom of the bar, and you will be able to catch it by simply waiting a few moments.
This does not affect the probability of encountering certain fish, nor anything to do with crab pots, it simply allows for painless catching.
The downside is that you will mostly likely not be able to open treasure chests, should they spawn while you are fishing.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Navigate to Steam > steamapps > common > Stardew Valley > Content > Data.
2. Find Fish.xnb, and rename it to something like "Fish_backup.xnb".
3. Download the .rar file.
4. Extract the new Fish.xnb file from the .rar, and place it into the Data folder.
The game will now read the modded file as if it were the original.
KNOWN BUGS
- Pufferfish is very easy, but it does not sit still like other fish. Have not had time to investigate the issue.
