Hello everybody! I think it's clear to me that coming back to these mods just isn't something I'm going to have time for any time soon. So! I am now giving everybody blanket permission to finish and remix my mods as they please, with a few caveats.
1) Please link back to my original mods and give credit on your post. 2) Please upload your additions separately, linking back to my original mods so that everybody can have the complete set. If they've completely broken in the current version of the game then you may ignore this caveat. (ie. if you are making versions compatible with mobile or the game drastically changes in a way that the original code no longer functions even if it's slightly old) 3) If you are simply trying to mimic my style and doing things that I haven't already started (ie artifacts, tools, etc) you do not need my permission! All is well! If you'd like to give a shoutout that's appreciated, however.
Unfortunately these mods put a lot of pressure on me and the very constant messaging about them has sucked out a lot of the joy I used to have for this game. :( I am hoping that if others can complete the set that I'll be able to have fun with it again, but also that the rest of you can have fun with completed mods.

I've began mapping out what needs to be updated and added to this mod, to bring it up to speed to 1.6. I'm new to Aseprite and modding in general (but not to art and coding, so I think I should be good), and there IS quite a bit of new content to be added in, so this will take a while. I'm not in any hurry to get it out, as well, since there's plenty of texture replacements for crops and forage out and being updated.
This will also only be released if I feel like everything I'm doing match the set to the best of my abilities. If anyone feels inclined to help, or has already started doing this in any way, shoot me a message so we can work together!... Or not. You do you.
Will update this when I get some significant progress done. Until then, farewell!
Update: 4 new crops (plus crop growth and packets) and 2 giant crops need to be added. I'll get to work at it somewhere in the coming up weeks. Update²: new crops are done, plus packets. Working on the giant crops now. Download them here.
Im not sure how to message you directly but I did redo the 4 new crops and their seed bags if you wanna take a look or if you wanna bounce ideas off eachother.
Pumpkin growth stages don't appear to be being replaced. Instead, the block labelled Pumpkin crops just replaces the cauliflower a second time. The Y offset in both the FromArea and ToArea needs changed from 48 to 288 to properly replace pumpkin growth stages (and height changed to 32 rather than 16).
EDIT: Same thing with the SweetGemBerry crops being a copy/paste of the SummerSpangle crops block. The SGB Y offset should be 512 and width 112 instead of 480 and 96.

hi, this might be a bit late, but better late than never! to modify the information, you will need to access the content.json file in the mod folder and open it with notepad to access the contents. you will need to scroll down a bit to reach the specific areas that OP mentioned. NOTE: only edit the Y FromArea & ToArea, and both Heights for FromArea and ToArea for Pumpkin. For SweetGemBerry, i'm assuming both Y's from FromArea & ToArea, and both Widths from FromArea & ToArea. please keep in mind, i'm not knowledgeable of code, so make a backup of your original content json file before messing around.
It says in the highlighted comment that they are done with the mod. It should still work on most of the crop and foraging items, it just won't work on anything new. Hopefully somone will be nice enough to create a mod that updates what is missing.
I have a problem, I set the sunflower to "false", but the crop shows up in your retexture. The harvested sunflower looks like the vanilla version. Could you please help me? I want the crop to look like vanilla version too, but since I already set it to "false", I don't know how else to do it.
Edit: And I set the sweet gem berry to true, and even though the harvested item is recoloured, the growing crop is vanilla. So the exact opposite of the above described sunflower. Can someone please help me? ;_;
This mod may have recently collided with a newly updated mod. Even though it loaded properly, the texture didn't appear in my game. But I don't know how to screen for problems, and smapi doesn't have red letter. Has anyone been in the same situation? Is there anyone who can help?
have you found a fix? i'm having the same problem and SMAPI isn't helpful. i fixed roughly half of the textures by adding a "z" to the folder name, but for some reason there's still a lot that aren't loading.
I'm having the same problem. SMAPI doesn't print any error messages, but still this mode didn't work. Since I deleted whole game, mode files and started new farm, I have no idea where this problems come from.
This is beautiful! although a really annoying glitch ive seen is that the fairy rose is suuuper bugged out. Its stem keeps flickering back and forth and its a real strain for the eyes. I had to turn it off :(
Just paste the two png images from this zip into the [CP] Better Crops and Foraging\assets\crops folder and replace the ones already in there. All I did was edit the flower stem a little bit - it was overlapping with the flower top.
For some reason, this mod is no longer loading the objects assets folder for my game. It shows the seeds package as the correct one for parsnips at the start of a new game but foraging items are all vanilla (dandelion, daffodil, etc.)
