Do clams get you down? Have you ever layered the ocean in crab pots to get lots of sashimi and ended up with a pile of useless clams? Do you wish you could make sashimi out of clams to make them worth fractionally more? Do you ever think to yourself, "what am I going to do with all of these clams?" Do you wish I would shut up and get to the point already?

Me too!

This is a super simple Content Patcher mod to make clams a type of fish. This will allow them to be used in sashimi, maki rolls, quality fertilizer, and anything else that requires "any" fish, while still allowing the use of clams specifically to make chowder and speed-gro fertilizer. Thanks to the wonders of content patcher, it should be compatible with everything, except CP mods that also change the type of clams (but if you have one of those, why are you looking at this page?).

Installation instructions:
  1. Install the latest version of SMAPI.
  2. Install Content Patcher.
  3. Download this mod and unzip it into Stardew Valley/Mods.
  4. Run the game using SMAPI.

Note:
If you're installing on an existing save, all clams you've gotten before adding the mod will still be not-fish. This is a limitation of the game and not something I can easily fix. But, you can fix stacks of existing clams by getting one or more new clams (these should be correctly labeled as fish) and adding the stack of old clams to the new clams (order matters! If you add the new clams to the pre-mod clams instead of the other way around, your new clams will also become not-fish). For example, if I have a stack of 5 not-fish clams from pre-mod, I can put those in a chest, get a new fishy clam, then add the stack of 5 not-fish clams to the fishy clam. This would give me a stack of 6 fishy clams. (Thanks @TheMightyFluff for pointing this out!) Or you can just dump all your pre-mod clams and start fresh.

This mod will (sort of) work on multiplayer -- any fishy clams stacked on any not-fish clams (from other players who don't have the mod) will be turned into not-fish clams, and vice versa.
