Hi! Thank you for making such a good mod! I translate your mod into Chinese ! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gcu6mst8vm5f84u/AAAYdSRglLkAlmhY-eiWn0HUa?dl=0
This character seems to be conflicting with "GiftTasteHelper" causing it to not work, I also could not give the lost child any gifts, and is he supposed to be behind the playground? (if so that's really cool and creepy)
Any clue as to why this character seems to conflict with this mod? I'm also using mothmand and wendigo and they seem to work fine.
I tried uninstalling it, but the SMAPI log gave me an error saying the file couldn't be found when I tried to load a save. The same happened with the Wendigo mod.
I believe this will happen with any custom NPC mods. If you save your game with them installed, you cannot continue to play that save without them unless you modify the save file, which I'm unsure of how to do.
Find your save files (Appdata/roaming/StardewValley/Saves) The files will be (yourfarmersname)[a bunch of numbers] and there will be two of them, one with _old, you'll have to edit both of them. (make sure to make a backup) ctrl+F "<characters><NPC><name>LostChild</name>" (without quotation marks) delete "<characters><NPC><name>LostChild</name>..." to "...</IsWalkingTowardPlayer></NPC></characters>" (make sure to do this to the only character you want to remove)
I hope this helped, I know it is tedious but it is the only way to unistall
