I need to use the unofficial BFAV and have tried to add the Dragons but can figure it out.
Can you make a new update on how to add the dragons or is it abandoned?

I use The unofficial update of Paritee's, but when i open the config i do not see the four }. The png keeps going back into the dragon folder. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? The dragons are not appearing.

It's not working. I added what you said in the description to the config file for BFAV and I cut and pasted the animal shop PNG into assets. But when I spoke to Marnie to buy a dragon, not only were there no dragons, but every other BFAV mod animal was gone, too!

There was a big block of red text that I think will help:

This mod has not been updated for Stardew Valley 1.4 and won't work if you downloaded the Steam update.

      Oh... Okay.
Are you planning to update it at some point?

Quick, somewhat off-topic question: In image #2, I can see what looks to be... a donkey? Or maybe a Mudbray from Pokemon? Wondering where you got that 'cause I want one, too. ;)
EDIT: Just saw your answer to the same question. Oops.

P.S. Bookmarked this mod, probs gonna install tomorrow, provided everything goes well with what I've already installed, lol. Haven't (successfully) used BFAV yet, so still testing the waters.

Hello, I have the mod installed, and it doesn't appear to be working. It gives me the error "[Paritee's Better Farm Animal Variety] Dragon category will not load: At least one type is required". I have put the dragon into assets and copied the config text into the notepad. Any ideas? Thanks.

Is there a way to make the ores that the dragons produce just be base quality like normal ore? I keep getting 3 different quality levels for each ore and I can only stack 5 of the same quality to put in a furnace.

Unfourtanely, I can't get rid of the quality on the ores in the dragons code. But there are some mods available that take away the quality or combine them into one quality. One can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3986 , which is what I personally use. I'm sorry I can't help you any more than just recommending you a mod to use, but it's something I have no control over! DX

Thank you for the help! I have since realized that you can use different quality bars to purchase upgrades from Clint so it isn't too bad!

Sure, that's no problem! The other BFAV animals in that picture are the BFAV Raccoon from here https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3470 , the BFAV Crows from here https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3737 , and the other one is a BFAV Mule. Sadly, the mule was taken down by its creator, so it's not available anymore.

Hi, I have the mod working (and it looks great btw!) but I wanted to address that when I try to let the dragons outside during the day, they often get stuck in the door and can't really get outside. Do you think this might be a bug?

Sorry for the delayed response! I did notice that happening with some of my dragons during testing, so it might indeed be a bug. However, I'm not sure if this is because they are originally coop animals turned into barn animals, so this may be a vanilla game bug. Or, if this also happens to dinosaurs, who are similar in size to the dragons. I will be uploading a coop version of the dragons, so people can have a choice, and if this issue still persists, I would chalk it up to a vanilla game bug. Since that's all I can think of as a possible problem.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Is this mod compatible with Macs? I can't open the .config for BFAV, and I also can't open the .rar, which is what downloads instead of a folder. It says there will be more info in the guide in the download, but I don't understand where that is supposed to be.

Yes, this mod should be compatible with a Mac. Every mod on this site will be in rar or zip files, and to unzip them to get the folders inside, you need Winrar or 7zip. These programs will unzip the file you downloaded so you can actually get the [BFAV] Dragons folder inside. In that folder is the installation guide, which you should follow so you’ll be able to use the dragons. Also, to open the config file in Paritee’s BFAV mod, you have to open it in a Notepad program to edit it.

If you have any other questions, just ask.
