5/13: This update adds compatibility patches for Stardew Valley Expanded and a tiny patch for RSV!
There are also many other changes and additions among this update: 3 new events, some additional dialogue, pronoun support, an alternate "pipsqueak-lite" dialogue script players can switch to, toggleable children sprites, and a lot of bug fixes. You can view the changelog for more info. By default, the configuration toggles are set to use the standard dialogue script and to use Caleb's children sprites. If you'd like to change these, you can do so by using Generic Mod Config Menu, or manually editing the config.json.
For existing players, you can of course see the new events! They're available to you retroactively. Information about their triggers are available at the bottom of the mod description. Hopefully you all enjoy them. I really enjoyed incorporating my own art in these events, it was a LOT of fun to do. Additionally, there are now new variants of the Saloon attic, changing as Caleb gets more settled in. You can also get all-day access to the Saloon. After you've reached 4 hearts with Caleb, talk to him and he should mention something about it. No more camping outside the Saloon until noon! Once again, if you're an existing player these are still available for you retroactively regardless if you're already beyond 4 hearts.
There's many other changes and additions that, while I tried to test everything numerous times and combed over everything, I likely missed some things and could've easily broken other things. If you encounter any issues with this update, please let me know by reporting it as a bug in the 'Bugs' tab! I rely on it to help find what I might've missed.
Make sure you have at least 4 hearts with him and its between 3PM and 9PM. I forgot to add the heart requirement info for it in the event information tab Let me know if it still doesn't work after double-checking!

Thank you very much!!! I knew there had to be a bunch of us out there, it just made perfect sense to combine the two! I actually have a list of all the mods my farmer was wearing in the screenshots! These are all for Fashionsense: The hair is from mod number 19125, "Churpy's Vivid Hairstyles - Flower Garden Set" by Churpix, Hairstyle: Camellia. The shirt is mod number 15266, "Luoli clothes converted to FS" by luoli1119, shirt: AWQ-1. The pants are from the same Luoli mod, pants: AEI-5. And the hat (little hair bows) also is from the same luoli mod, hat: AIL-6. I also use the GH Peach body mod for my farmer, which isn't on Nexus but if you google it I'm sure you can find it. It's a korean mod
There is another NPC named Caleb. Is there a way to verify compatibility? Its affecting the sprites for both npcs https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5980?tab=posts is the other Caleb NPC I'm referring to
Yes, there is likely compatibility issues between the two. Both my mod and this mod use the same internal ID of "Caleb". This can be solved by either one of the NPC's internal IDs being changed, which I'm already looking into doing with my mod. But it will likely be quite a while before I get around to it since it requires me to refactor a lot of the code and then re-test it all to make sure everything works fine. So sorry for the inconvenience! :(
I stopped playing stardew for a bit because I wanna wait until Caleb has all his heart events :""). I'm in love with this mod and I wanna ask when is the 1.3 version coming out?
Boy do I have news for you LOL excellent timing. Unfortunately this latest update does not complete his heart events 😔 I'm embarrassingly slow at this I fear though. There was a lot of messing around with under-the-hood stuff with this latest update. Hopefully now this means I don't have to mess with these really nitty-gritty core parts of the mod now and can focus more on the creative stuff now. Ideally I'd like to have the last 3 major heart events done within the next two months. Super sorry for the hold up 😭
Just curious, is Portraiture a hard requirement, or it can be played without it? If its not, any chance of adding a default portrait for a non-Portraiture version?
Thank you very much! At the moment, Portraiture is indeed a hard requirement. There's a non zero chance of me getting around to doing a default Stardew portrait set for those who don't want to faff around with Portraiture. But at the moment it's a little low on the list for me. If there's a merciful God out there, then someone kind will make a non-portraiture portrait for Caleb before I do it. 🤣

This mod seems so cool, but I can't get it to work :( I installed it as instructed, but when I went to the saloon for his character introduction, nothing happened
I'm sorry! :( A couple of questions first: When you entered the Saloon, was it on Spring 8th/any day after? I know sometimes people might not realize that they have to actually play through about a week into the game before they can actually unlock Caleb. If it was on/after Spring 8th, then second question: When you enter the Saloon, are you able to see the new door added to the back room in the top right of the map? If you DON'T see the door, then the mod is not being loaded into your game. Typically the cause is accidentally incorrectly installing the mod, or perhaps your version of Content Patcher is not up to date. If you CAN see the door, then the mod IS definitely being loaded into the game. If you're able to, upload your SMAPI log here (there's instructions on the page incase you need them): https://smapi.io/log, and then sending me the link to it can let me check through your latest log and potentially find the issue :)
