Papayahunter's Portrait Mod (Bachelors/Bachelorettes edition)
Almost exactly a year ago, I first put pen to tablet with the intention of making this mod. Now, after a year of trial and error, the first part is ready for public download.
I love everything about Stardew and the og ConcernedApe style, but at the same time, I couldn't keep looking at Sebastian with Bang-blindness. Somebody needed to move his bang. bless his heart.
I drew the characters with inspiration from their older portraits throughout history (hence Maru's brown hair) and my own style changes (Elliott's outfit), so hopefully they feel familiar, but a little more life-like.

How to install :

How to install a portraits mod with Portraiture:
- Download and install Portraiture for your version of SDV
(If done correctly the manifest.json should now sit in "/Mods/Portraiture/manifest.json")
- Download a portraits mod you want to use.
- Create a folder in "Mods/Portraiture/Portraits" that you name however you like, for ex. "Papaya" and extract the portrait files inside it.
(If done correctly the file for Abigail would be located at "/Mods/Portraiture/Portraits/Papaya/Abigail.png")
- Start the game and talk to someone. Once the DialogueBox is open press P to change portraits till you see the right one. It will also shortly show the name of the folder above the left top corner of the DialogueBox, in this case "Papaya". Whatever folder you pick will be saved for all portraits and stay that way after reloading until you change it again yourself.
Coming up soon for my portrait mod...
- adding facial expressions and alternatives for existing portraits
- the rest of the villagers !! that's gonna be a monumentous undertaking, so if i randomly drop off the grid for several months... that's what i'm doing.
- Minor tweaks and corrections to the portraits throughout the future. I can't leave my art alone.
in the further future:
- winter outfits hehe. okay I'm gonna be so honest. I don't think I can top ConcernedApe's winter outfits. Haley and Sam's are just TOOOOO good. but regardless it's still on the agenda at some point.
- SVE and RSV portraits. there are a lot of things that are priorities above this, so I don't know that I'll ever truly get around to it, but just know that I WANT to
special shoutout to Stardew Valley Wiki, Pathoschild, Platonymous, and the SDV discord. I literally could not have done this without the Portraiture mod, and I would've been lost if not for the resources all 4 provided. also shoutout to CA because i like the game
