Hello! I've made a couple of sprites that represent the Romani Vanner and Clydesdale horse breeds for personal use. I may do more breeds in the future, would you be okay with me releasing a content pack/addition with these breeds? I'm currently unsure if/when ill be making them but I want to make sure I have your permission.
Hiya! I've seen some of your WIPs on the Discord server and I'd say you've done a great job! The original assets were made by GreenJellyblob/Bean , so I'd normally tell you to contact them and ask... but I just noticed you'd already done that, ha, and their permissions are open anyway. My permissions are mainly set to "ask first" just in case the original mod's ones ever change so I can react accordingly (and potentially tell people to go ask Green, lol). Long story short: No objections from my side at all!
If you give me a bit more info, I‘ll do my best to find and fix that bug, sure. Firstly, which menu are we talking about exactly? Secondly, could you upload a log to smapi.io/log and post a link to it here? It‘s probably going to take me a bit, though, since… Christmas. Speaking of which, happy holidays!
I really like this mod. Is there any way to make it compatible with the "Multiple Horses" mod? I love having more than one horse and I would love to have all different colors and combinations. Thanks! :)
Glad to hear that! While the answer at the moment is that it’s not possible to have different color combinations for different horses, that just might change in a bit. Someone’s working on a a mod to allow just that, so if you wait a week or two, you might just wake up to a nice surprise.
Hello! Is it possible to have a xnb file versions of these horses so its possible to just replace in game files instead using smapi? It would be great! So happy they got updated!
Is there any particular reason you want XNB files? XNB modding hasn't been recommended in years for a variety of reasons and I won't provide any XNB files to prevent any inexperienced mod users from potentially messing up their game. Besides, making different files for all combinations would be a Sisyphean task that I really don't feel up to. If you insist on turning this into an XNB file, I guess you could try overlaying the horse files manually using a program like Libresprite and then repacking it so you could replace the base game's file. I'm pretty sure there's some info on un- and repacking XNBs somewhere on the wiki.
Hehe, thanks a lot for the compliment! All credit for the base sprite goes to Green – I’d never be able to draw such a good horse. I just did some small edits here and there and made a config. 😄
You just download it and drop it into your mod folder! If you want to configure it afterwards, I recommend using GMCM (Generic Mod Config Menu, linked in the mod description). There are step by step instructions in the main description that detail how to download it and in my reply to KiingEggy here in the comment section that explain the configuration. If anything’s unclear, just ask. :)
Ah, I knew forgot to mention something. This mod doesn’t move the hat – the head is the actual problem. Since the horses’ heads are higher than vanilla horses’, the hats kind of clip through their necks. Sadly, there’s nothing I can do about that at the moment since I can’t actually change the hat position.
Fastest temporary solution is to add a warning that hats are not supported and will cause visual glitch, in description tab or in atext file in the mod files
It pains me to admit it but I think it's nicer than Elle's cuter horses mod, I'm definitely going to try it in my current game, of course I don't belittle Elle's work, since I've been using her mod since my first game and I use many other mods of her authorship, too. But sometimes it's good to change a little.
You know what they say – variety is the spice of life! Elle's done an absolutely amazing job with all her sprites, but if you want more realistic proportions for your horse, there's nothing better than Green's imo.
Yes, in fact I really liked your version. I made a nice black horse and I named it “Tornado”, like the horse of “El Zorro”, a swordsman who helped the needy, set in the times of the colonies, very well known in Argentina.
It's pretty easy! If you want to avoid manually changing JSON files, I'd strongly recommend downloading GMCM, so the following description will assume you've got it installed.
Open the game and click the cog icon in the bottom left corner of the title screen.
Find the entry for Green's Horses Continued somewhere in the list and click it.
You'll see three lines and boxes: "Horse Color", "Mane Color" and "Saddle Color". Click the box and choose the color you want from the dropdown menu.
Aw dang, They're all so pretty, I'm seriously thinking leaving my current horse mod (sorry Elle's Cuter Horses) and adopting yours instead Side note: Would it be possible to change the category from visual & graphics to Pets / Horses ?

That's it!Side note: Would it be possible to change the category from visual & graphics to Pets / Horses ?
Oh, that's a pretty good point, thanks! I totally missed that category when I set up the mod page. Done!
