Do you also have woes from crows? I always disliked the implementation for crows in Stardew Valley. Having to plan my farm with scarecrow placement in mind was always a thorn in my side, as far as appearances went, and I always felt like the game was lacking a more permanent, yet unobtrusive way to deal with them. I didn't necessarily want a mod that removed crows in their entirety, but I still wanted something that let me feel like I earned not having to arrange my fields with scarecrows in mind. Something similar to how the Gold Clock lets me feel like I earned not having to deal with debris or decaying fences on my farm. So, I decided to make my own solution to the problem posed by this feathered menace.

Introducing, the Corncrow! Thematically, it's a scarecrow with an unending bowl of corn that entices the crows to feed from it instead of from your fields, therefore leaving your crops alone. Gameplay wise, it's a scarecrow with a 500 tile radius (1000 tile diameter), which should be sufficient to cover the needs of all but the most deranged. At least, it's big enough to cover every map I've seen on Nexus Mods so far.

The Corncrow has a few unlock conditions, primarily in that it requires a Deluxe Scarecrow and a Golden Animal Cracker, along with a few other non-gated materials (namely Corn and Oak Resin), to craft. This makes it more of a midgame item, but I think it strikes a good balance between ease of accessibility and the power of protecting your entire farm. The recipe for the Corncrow itself unlocks at Farming level 9. It requires Content Patcher and SMAPI, but that's it.

Known Issues:
If you have a mod like Range Highlight, I highly suggest turning off the Scarecrow option. Those kinds of mods do not play nice with scarecrow ranges above 200 tiles, and may cause your game to freeze or crash. This isn't a fault of either mod, but rather simply how the data between the two are handled. Using those mods with Corncrow is still otherwise fine, just turn off the Scarecrow range-finding option first before trying to place a Corncrow.
