Is it possible to add some "default" message to use with NPCs that are not in list? There are mods that add other NPCs to the game, and that "empty" mails are looking really strange xD
I play SDVE and notice that too; even more ideal would be allowing NPC authors or the community to add birthday mail lines themselves. EDIT: Not sure if the Mod Author is still active, but I saw they had expressed concern regarding how mail works with custom NPC's. I was able to get SDVE's NPC's working so I am sure it is the same for most other character additions. If the mod author isn't interested in patching this mod anymore I can make a patch to add the new base NPC and other NPCs.
EDIT: i posted about the wrong mod oops. This is the issue i ran into with this one: i downloaded this mod yesterday, but theres no mail that ever comes for any of the birthdays. I'm in winter of year 1 right now, and i tried restarting my game, reloading my save, etc. Theres no SMAPI log of it showing up either to indicate that it's even being detected. I am playing SVE right now, but i also have mods outside of that. do you know of any mods that are incompatible with yours?
There should be no incompatibilities with my mod. It does require SMAPI ad well as Content Patcher, with which i am adding the mail items into the mail file. Unless another mod it just outright replacing the mail file, there should be not incompatibilities. If someone is replacing the original file then they will have to use Content Patcher to make sure it's compatible with other mail adding mods.
Please make sure to follow installation instructions closely, and if things arent working, re-download the mod and reinstall it again. If it's still not working, and you are on the latest (1.4.3+) version of star dew valley, then there must me another mod thats disabling functionality of mine. However it should still show up in the debug log as loaded even if the mail file gets replaced.
Check version, the version you downloaded from here, and make sure that other mods that change / add mail require Content Patcher.
Altight. I looked at the SVE and it looks like i will need to do and SVE version of the mod for it to work. Im unsure how to do that so ill have to sit down and see how SVE changes the mail / content patcher interaction. Looks like 9 more NPS's also mean 9 more birthday mails to write for that version :P

I absolutely love this mod, thank you! I noticed 1 typo so far though: for George's birthday reminder: "I wanted to remind you that today is George's birthday. An old man with an old taste pallet." I think you meant "palate."
So sad that SMAPI's android version couldn't create config file atomatically so I can't change the language successfully. But it's ok cause these sentences are adorable and easy to understand! Thank you!
