    Gonna chime in to say thank you very much for adding this accessibility option for those of us that need it. This mod enables me to play Stardew Valley as I can't play with WASD movement because of my disability. My suggestion is I hope that you can rebind the special moves to MMB or something as that keybind is useless in-game right now. I do use the mode 2 that disables them but I do wanna use them.

      About your suggestion, you can now go to the File tab and download the 1.2.4 version of the mod for MouseMidle and MouseX1 SpecialMove. I also add an alternative way to perform special move when you Left-click on self when holding weapon. The 1.2.4 is experimental so you have to go to the File tab and manual download. Tell me if you need any specific fix for 1.2.4

      Hello, while still in this topic, i really hope you can also add option to rebind keys to mouse button 1 to mouse button 5. thanks for this wonderful mod btw.

      Sorry to say this but I haven't found others way around this time, the 3.4.0 SMAPI comes with "fix/update" that somehow broken the mod (and others). So this time it will take a bit more time for me (or SMAPI author revert the update).

      For the fastest way to make the mod work again is download and reinstall the older version of SMAPI 3.3.2 which the link is here https://github.com/Pathoschild/SMAPI/releases/tag/3.3.2

      Or if you can wait, I will invest more time in it to find a solution nonetheless.

    Thank you SO much for adding this accessibility option for those of us that need it. This may be a convenience to most but I just got the game to find I couldn't play it because of my tremors and movement issues with my hands made doing movement by keyboard just not workable and beyond frustrating, when I got the game to relax. I don't understand why it's not an official option. I've seen people say elsewhere(when looking for this fix), that it's intended and is retro, fine but it should still be an option. Don't Starve is WSAD to move too but has the option to click to move for those that need it. DS also has click something and run to it and perform that function but I saw where you said that is very complicated to do. Thank you so much, you made my money spent be not wasted.

    Thank you so much for this mod!

    Just to repeat what has previously been said, it would be great have left click as a way to move.

    I had to play this on mobile before getting the proper version, and being able to tap an item and then have your character walk over and interact with it made gameplay so much smoother. Games like Don't Starve use this same method of control.

    I don't know why the game has such clunky control methods with no way to change them.

      Thanks, glad that you like the mod.

      I had taken a look at some similar parts from the mobile version, and it is way complicated than I thought. But nonetheless, I do want to make the mod to be something like the tap to move mode from mobile version / Don't Starve too, so I will reply you back when some of those features are ready.

    Love this mod!
    Wondering if you can add move on left click as well. Would be nice to just click something, then run up and break/water/dig it.

      Well, I can't say that I haven't tried left-click as the move button before.

      While Combat/Tool using will be screwing up for sure (force move button can help), but somehow using left-click feels really weird, the more I try the more I feel uncomfortable. The reason is that you can't interact with stuff using left-click by the default of the game.

      For example, you left-click and the mod helps the character go next to the door but left-click can't open it (so meaning you will need to right-click to open it); or when you left-click decorator (like TV, Fireplace, chair, table ...) it will bring you to the placing mode (instead of opening TV, ...).

      I will need to change a lot of things with code to make the control smoother but that means others will have to learn new controlling instead of a simple helper on top and keeping original (so people will take less time to familiar with the mod). Since you mention it, I will spend more time thinking about it again then, still not quite sure how to do it though.

      Anyway, thank for your reply, it feels great when my mod can help others

      It's done and the mod is working now, delete the old config file before you open the game

    Hey, I was wondering if it's possible to just disable the special attack, yet not move on click or hold?
    I use the right mouse button to interact with stuff and that does not seem to work when I'm using this mod.

    It appears to be either move and disabled special attack or interact and special attack.

      Sorry for the delay response, but someone asks it right bellow.
      You can disable the special attack for the right mouse which needs you to go to the config file and change WeaponsSpecticalInteractionType value to 2 like this
      "WeaponsSpecticalInteractionType": 2

      There is 3 mode to handle Special using right-click:
      0: Right-click Special move only in a small radius (2 tiles) around the player
      1: Normal (default: this have some tricks to master, which I know it as I created the mod, but explaining make things even more confuse)
      2: Disable Right-click Special move

      As I do some specific interaction for weapons (better combat experience), most of the time switch it into other stuff (like empty inventory slot, farming tool, best one is Scythe) when not in a mine will give better experience, less awkward moments (like special-attack when riding I guess, did I fix it yet?).

      And still, sometimes the mod getting weird (mostly my fault can't cover all the possible outcome), you could press G to disable it temporarily, and press G again to switch it on after. Hope this help

      I did that, but either the special move is disabled and I can not interact with the item in front of me unless the mouse is positioned above it, or the special move is not disabled and I can interact with the item in front of me.

      In that case, try mode 0, this makes the weapon no longer have special interaction and work exactly the same as all other stuff: right-click anywhere far than 2 tiles will move the player. It quite not as good when in combat though.

    Hey. First of all, amazing mod. My mom has issues using the keyboard due to injury and I've been dying to find a way for her to play this game.

    That said, I think it would be really cool to have the option to reverse the mouse buttons: Move/interact on left mouse button and use tools/items on the right.

      Reverse the mouse buttons? I will think about that, but I can't say it could be done in close times or not, because there are many other interactions or other mod will be affected. Maybe you can try some other ways around for now like changing mouse primary button ( you may check this article https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000819.htm ) when playing the game

    I would like to totally disable the special attack (Block/Slam/Multi-attack) so that on a right click, it does not trigger. Alternatively, remapping it would be great. Is that functionality available for this mod? The cooldown-only movement is very disruptive during combat. Thanks

      It's actually available. You can go to the config file and change WeaponsSpecticalInteractionType value to 2 like this

      But the remapping isn't there though, you can try to use in-game setting for now before I adding it. I think I will make a button only for special-move (should be Mouse4 ?)

      Changing the value to 2 worked like a charm! The in-game setting to disable actions definitely is an alternative. You've been enormously helpful. Since I don't have full use of my left hand this mod has made the game fully playable for me. Thank you for the fast response and the great mod.

    Can I request that this mod be updated for the new version of Smapi? According to the app, it's going to break upon the upcoming update. I'm disabled and this really makes all the difference in gameplay for me. Thanks so much either way!
