Description:

This is a simple texture mod that changes the appearance of the default cat to a grey and white tabby. I made this a while back for my own use but recently I decided I might as well publish it, in case anyone else wanted to use it.

---------------

Installation:

There is both a .xnb version and a Content Patcher version. Choose whichever one you'd like (I would recommend using Content Patcher to avoid overwriting files), then follow the instructions below.

To use the .xnb version:
  1. Go to the Downloads page and download "Grey and White Tabby".
  2. Unzip the folder by right-clicking it > "Extract All" or use an unzipping program such as 7Zip.
  3. Navigate to your Stardew Valley folder. (This will usually be within your Program Files somewhere. If you're using Steam, you can go to your Library >  right-click on Stardew Valley in your games list > "Properties" > "Local Files" > "Browse Local Files".)
  4. Once you're inside the Stardew Valley folder, open the "Content" folder then open the "Animals" folder.
  5. Copy the file "cat.xnb" from the unzipped folder and paste it into the Animals folder. If there's already a pre-existing file, replace/overwrite it.
  6. You're done! Go ahead and launch the game.

To use the Content Patcher version (requires SMAPI and Content Patcher):
  1. Go to the Downloads page and download "Grey and White Tabby".
  2. Unzip the folder by right-clicking it > "Extract All" or use an unzipping program such as 7Zip.
  3. Download SMAPI and ContentPatcher (pathoschild). Unzip both of them, then install SMAPI. If you're using Steam, make sure you edit your launch options, as instructed.
  4. Navigate to your Stardew Valley folder. (This will usually be within your Program Files somewhere. If you're using Steam, you can go to your Library > right-click on Stardew Valley in your games list > "Properties" > "Local Files" > "Browse Local Files".)
  5. Once you're inside the Stardew Valley folder, open the "Mods" folder.
  6. Place the mod folders from both Content Patcher and this mod into the Mods folder. (For example, make sure the "[CP] GreyAndWhiteTabby" folder is inside the Mods folder.)
  7. You're done! Go ahead and the launch the game, either through "StardewModdingAPI.exe" (in the Stardew Valley folder) or through Steam (if you set launch options).
