An occasional allowance mod

DESCRIPTION

Stardew Valley Gold is, at the end of the day, a cheat mod. It allows you to add, or remove, a user-defined amount of money from your farm at will via hotkey or as defined by a schedule. It requires SMAPI (version 3.0.0 or later) and was designed for use with the Generic Mod Config Menu (version 1.12.0 or later), but is usable as-is without the Generic Mod Config Menu if so desired. All mod settings are saved on a per-farm basis. This means you can use very generous settings on one farm and much less forgiving settings on another farm. This mod makes no changes to your save game files, so it is completely safe to install or remove at any point during your play-through. It is also compatible with Multi-Player farms, with or without shared profits.

MULTI-PLAYER

This mod is compatible with Multi-Player farms, whether local (split-screen) or online. However, this mod will only function if you are the Host of the multi-player farm. Only the Host needs to have the mod installed. Clients (connected players) do not need to have this mod installed. If shared profits are enabled, then all players will receive the allowance when the Host receives an allowance. If shared profits are disabled, then only the Host will receive an allowance. If you have this mod installed and are not the host, then this mod will not function. You will not receive an allowance for any reason, regardless of settings if you are a Client (connected player). Note that at this time, only the Host will see on-screen messages related to allowances. Clients will see their money values change if shared profits are enabled, but they will see no messages.

INSTALLATION

Install using the mod-manager of your choice, or manually like most other mods by placing the StardewValleyGold folder into your Mods folder. This is typically located at ...\Stardew Valley\Mods\. For Steam users, this is most commonly ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\.

UNINSTALLATION

Since this mod makes no changes to your save-game file, you can uninstall this mod at any point during your play-through. You can either uninstall via your mod-manager or simply delete the StardewValleyGold folder and all of its' contents from your ...\Mods\ folder.

SETUP

Generic Mod Config Menu users:
After launching the game, you can configure global mod settings at the Title Screen (prior to loading a saved game). Once in-game, you can configure farm-specific mod settings. This mod is enabled on a per-farm basis, so you will need to enable this mod in-game on each farm you wish to use it on.

Non-Generic Mod Config Menu users:
You will need to launch Stardew Valley and load your saved game with this mod installed at least once. After you do that, exit the game and navigate to ...\Stardew Valley\Mods\StardewValleyGold\Data\ where you will find both a Global_Settings.json file and a farm-specific settings .json file. Open both of these with a text editor like notepad, notepad++, or sublime text, and edit the values as you see fit. You will need to set the AllowanceEnabled flag to TRUE as well as at least one of the schedule-based flags (such as GrantAllowanceTue) to TRUE or set the GrantAllowanceOnKeyPress flag to TRUE. You can then re-launch Stardew Valley and begin using this mod. Note that these steps will need to be repeated for each new farm you use this mod with.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod should be compatible with everything, but you may encounter issues with usability if you use a modified version of the Generic Mod Config Menu, or if you use a mod which makes changes to the Generic Mod Config Menu. Otherwise, there should be no issues with other mods, even other mods that add money.

KNOWN ISSUES

There are no known issues at the moment. If you identify an issue, please report it and if it can be confirmed, then it will be resolved as soon as possible.

TRANSLATIONS

This mod is designed to accommodate translations, but currently is only available in English (US). If you are willing to provide translations for this mod, please do so and they will be included in either the next major update, or as an optional download.
