(shoutout to stardew discord user Makco for providing suggestions for Penny's rainy dialogue and Flower Dance!)

This mod was written for the 1.3 beta.

Penny Dialogue Expansion!

============================================================

An extensive dialogue expansion for Penny, unmarried dialogue only, which expands on her characterization through her hopes in relation to Vincent and Jas and her own future, her relationship with her mother and their abandonment by her father, and her opening up to the farmer over time in a natural, but sometimes poignantly "clingy" way--sometimes once you find someone you can finally open up to, you're a little flirtier than expected, yet still aware of yourself.

This mod:

Adds 175+ lines of dialogue

Penny now has something different to say for every day of the week, for each season, for every two heart levels in normal "around the town" play.

Adds new dialogue for small things, rainy days for each heart level, as well as updated festival dialogue for 4, 8, and 10 hearts!

Penny's in front of the museum in the rain?  Let's give her some new stuff to say at 4 and 8 hearts.
Penny's at the doctor and wants privacy, but you have 8 hearts with her?  Let's have her respond a little more appropriately to your relationship.

Festival dialogue, including the Night Market, now has updates at 4, 8, and 10 hearts.
Spouse Penny now has her own lines in the Flower Dance and Dance of the Moonlight Jellies as well.

!!!SPOILER!!!
This mod adds updated dialogue for Penny and Pam's new house.  The rain on the roof of your trailer can't be soothing if you don't have a trailer anymore, Penny.

!!!END OF SPOILER!!!

Encourages replayability

If you spend any time at all focusing on Penny, you're not likely to see her  2-Heart dialogues from later in the year, but they are there should you ignore her on another playthrough.  Focusing totally on Penny will cause you miss some of the various dialogue if she befriends the farmer "too quickly," so you can always find some of that dialogue to be a new experience on another playthrough.

My Writing Philosophy & Mission:
When it comes to writing for Stardew characters, I strive to keep the vanilla feel and lore-adherence as much as possible, while providing enough variety to keep characters interesting in all interactions by minimizing repeated phrases and by building their openness to the farmer across heart levels.  NPCs should feel characterization-appropriate social distance at lower levels, and datable NPCs should be flirtier at 8 and 10 hearts, but not straying from their narrative.  I always seek to expand on each NPC's place in Pelican Town, among their friends and family, and within the generally light-hearted-but-sometimes-deeply-serious tone of the game as a whole.
