Seasonal products receive a selling price bonus as long as they are in season. This includes vegetables, fruits, forageables and fish. The aim is to encourage players to sell their fresh products rather than letting them gather dust in chests. Products that are available year-round, like some fish such as the Chub or Largemouth Bass, do not receive a bonus.
However, items that are technically seasonal but can be obtained year-round through alternative means, such as Red Mushrooms (Season: Summer and Fall; available year-round in the mine) or Pufferfish (Season: Summer; available year-round on Ginger Island), still receive a bonus. This is because they are considered seasonal goods by the residents of Pelican Town.
The default bonus is set at 40%, but it can be adjusted in the config file to tailor the gameplay experience to your preferences.
All items have been given the appropriate seasonal tags. For example, apples are now correctly tagged as a fall product. When playing with modded seasonal items, such as custom vegetables, fruits, fish and forageables, ensure that the mod creator has properly set the context tags. If done correctly, these items will also receive the sell price bonus without any issues.
In the config file of [CP] SeasonalFarmer, you can specify whether items available from spring to fall, such as truffles, ancient fruits, and tea leaves, should also receive the bonus.
