hello I like this mod from the looks of it!
If I may. can I suggest requesting compatibility for the fishy blood moon mod? I know the is mod is fairly new so I know this may or may not happen at this time but it would be interesting as you can add dialogue for that mod during the blood moon phase and adjust the lighting feature mentioned by others here with a slightly redish hue when that's mod's event occurs. this is a suggestion so I wish you luck in this great mod! :3

P.S. I love the moon and seeing the moon mods for stardew valley is really neat!

So what does this mod actually do? I'd like to know what changes I'm about to put into my game before installing it.

literally very little at the moment, it's mostly a toy for me to practice programming. i'll make sure to update the description as features are added.

Edit: Apparently, Sakorona has already made a moon mod( https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2208 ), but it only really adds events. Making your mod more aesthetic/atmospheric, such as lighting, or dialogue focused could distinguish your mod from theirs. They might be willing to give you some ideas or suggestions as well. Never hurts to ask.

Some ideas of mine that come to mind:

-Increased lighting at night based on the phase of the moon. The fuller the moon, the brighter night is.(Not too bright, of course. Should still be darker than day.) No light change during cloudy weather(Rain, snow, etc.) since clouds would block the moonlight, or new moon since there'd be no reflection of the sun.
-Should the lighting idea be implemented, add an option to remove the atmospheric warning in the config file. Imo, it's more immersive to walk outside and realize it's a full moon due to the brighter night, but depends on the player.
-If possible, add tiny moon phase pictures to the calendar. This assumes the phases are fixed each season, and assumes that it's feasible/easy to edit the calendar png files.
-Maybe change the shape of the moon on the UI near the clock based on the moon phase? Trivial, but an idea nonetheless.
-A full cycle of moon phases takes about 29.5 days, and there are technically 8 phases, so perfectly integrating that into the 28 day "months" of Stardew seems a bit tricky. Either simplify it to one phase per week, with four phases total, or use 8 phases with each phase lasting 3-4 days. If using 8 phases, make four of the phases last four days long instead of three.(For example: Full moon, New moon, Half waxing, Half Waning.)
-Add dialogue and/or events based on the type of moon. For example, it's easier to see other celestial objects(planets, stars, meteors, etc) during a New Moon when it's at it's darkest, so maybe give Maru new dialogue that she sometimes says during days of a new moon(Maru owns a telescope). Looking up the phases of the moon could provide some more potential ideas.

Please note, these are just the first things that came to mind, and aside from the lighting idea, none of these really seem all that important/necessary. Even more so, the lighting idea would be one of the easiest, with some other ideas probably being a great deal more complicated. If you decide to disregard my suggestions, then no worries. No need to make the mod over-complicated. :)

Lighting is the first thing I thought of on seeing this mod. They don't call it a harvest moon for nothing.

I absolutely hope that this can be eventually integrated with aspects from seasonal/longevity so that we can have people phasing in and out of were-animals. I am SO into that.
Maybe certain npc animals like moths or deer show up certain nights too? Animals are more fertile? Fairies or crows or giant crops or the witch are more or less likely to spawn? Some nights you can see the owl land for a hunt? Impacting lighting at night? Eventually a custom crop that's a flower which only blooms on full moon nights? Different beach forage spawn during different phases? This is so exciting!

Some ideas going forward - maybe the moon phases can influence luck? Or maybe even the amount of friendship you gain with people? Events would be SUPER cool, though I've never modded before so I have no idea how hard that kind of stuff is to implement, but the possibilities are endless. Good luck! :)

I'm definitely hoping this mod will eventually reach out and touch all aspects of SDV, I'll keep these ideas in mind!
