In vanilla, if the player is not on the farm (in a building, in another location, etc.), farm animals on the farm "freeze". The only exception is that they can go to the nearest grass to eat it, after which they "freeze" until the player returns to the farm.
Why would you want them not to "freeze"?
The farm will become more vibrant. It will no longer be the case that you leave the farm early in the day and upon returning you see that the animals have hardly wandered away from their buildings.
Pigs will become more efficient in producing truffles. If pigs do not wander around the farm, they are limited in truffle production. This is especially true if they have no grass and you leave the farm at the beginning of the day: all the pigs will stand at the entrance of the barn and try to dig up the truffle there, resulting in very little production by the end of the day. This mod prevents such a scenario.
If you have a mod that allows you to build coop/barn in other locations, the effect will also apply to this location! Still, you can limit the mod's effect to only the farm in the mod's config (Generic Mod Config Menu required).
