Ever since Tailoring was added in 1.4, I've thought it would be really cool to be able to buy new clothes from a tailor or other store. I love being able to change my farmer's little outfits, and though I do enjoy mods like Fashion Sense that allow anywhere, anytime customizability, nothing quite beats being able to open up your dresser drawer and pull out a new outfit for the day to try on and change into!

Problem is... Tailoring is just not very easily accessed in the early game! So you're stuck running around in the same shirt you moved to Pelican Town in until seasons later.

So, if you have ever wished for the ability to buy more clothes for your farmer, this mod is for you. :)

Shops Sell Clothing adds the ability to add a customizable number of Shirts and Pants to shop inventories of your choosing!

The following Shops are currently supported: the Hat Mouse, Pierre's, JojaMart, Krobus's Shop, Sandy's Shop, and/or the Traveling Cart.

New in version 1.1.0:

  • You can now choose multiple shops to sell clothing instead of just one! Shops can be toggled on and off independently of each other and can have their own pricing and quantities.
For example, you could have it so that Pierre's and Joja both sell clothes, and Pierre's has fewer choices but cheaper prices, while Joja has pricier options but a wider variety, to simulate competition between them... Or whatever else suits your taste!
  • Now properly supports clothing added by Json Assets content packs (if you have any installed). JA Shirts and Pants (/Skirts/Dresses/Shorts...) may appear in the random item selections added with Shops Sell Clothing.
  • New Traveling Cart modes:
    - a 'Variable' Mode, which emulates existing traveling cart behavior; clothing will have variable prices between 250 - 2500g, each individual listing will have a max available stock between 1 - 3, and in multiplayer if a player buys all of the stock for a certain listing, then it will be out of stock for all players, like other items in the vanilla Traveling Cart
    - a simpler 'Set' Mode, which makes clothes sold by the Traveling Cart behave like clothes added to any of the other shops, allowing you to set a fixed price for Shirts and Pants respectively, and in both single and multiplayer having no limit on number of purchases
    - Does not affect the vanilla stocklist (any clothing added will be in addition to the items normally sold that day anyway), and can of course be disabled in the config (defaults to Variable)
  • A few additional flavor details added for lore friendliness/immersion: the Joja Logo shirt will never be sold by Pierre's if he is enabled, while JojaMart, if enabled, will always sell their logo shirt at an Enticing Cheaper Rate (0.75x standard shirt price) for Marketing (don't you want to be a walking advertisement?? Join us. Thrive.)
(considered blacklisting the Gold Trimmed Shirt from Krobus's shop when he is enabled as well since it is tailored using Dwarf scrolls, but figured there was nothing else inherently Dwarven about the shirt...)

Note that Pants items (which includes Skirts, Dresses and Shorts) will be undyed when you buy them, so they will be plain white. You can of course dye them at Emily's house like normal.

By Default,
the Hat Mouse shop (as it already sells a type of clothing, so it seemed to make sense) and Traveling Cart (in Variable mode) are both enabled, with both selling 5 different randomly selected Shirts and 2 Pants per day. These values can all be configured and other shops switched on and off in game via Generic Mod Config Menu!

Compatible with Multiplayer! All players who want to be able to buy clothing must install the mod and all players must set their Configs accordingly if they wish to have the same experience as one another (ex. all players wanting to be able to buy clothes from Krobus need to enable him in config, not just the host), but should all see the same daily options as each other once they do.

Compatible with (probably) any mods that alter shops! As long as they don't change the name of the shop in Data/Shops (which.. I don't know why or how they would) they should be A-Okay to run together. This mod simply adds additional entries to those shops' stocklists through Content Patcher, and is compatible with other mods that do the same.
I am told that this is also compatible with Hat Shop Restoration in particular, thanks nisi36 for reporting back on that one. :)

I learned a lot of new things making this mod and it's a feature I've always wanted, so I hope it adds enjoyment to your playthrough. <3
