[30.03.2024] New update released for Stardew Valley 1.6+ | Tested with 10 concurrent players [03.01.2019] Yes, the mod is still working. Sadly still not for everybody but the project is not given up. Check out the "Got an issue?" Tab on the project website for more help. Huge thanks to the awesome community members who contributed on finding workarounds and solutions to open issues.
--------
There have been some bug reports popping up and that's totally normal. Yet it's getting a bit hard to keep the overview which is why I want to clear out some things.
As many other modders, I'm currently working alone on this mod. It was originally thought as a little mod for me and my friends so - WOW! I never thought that this mod would get that much attention. Most reported issues seem only to affect a few people and I kinda must find out what's different about those in relation to those for who it's working - basically finding a needle in the haystack. This aren't meant to be any excuses for me not to work on the bugs - but I hope that you understand that it may sometimes takes its time to solve them. While I try to include every useful information I discover while working on the bug reports, also for other being able to jump in, my options to solve them actually are quite limited.
1) As stated on the main page the entire MP mode itself is still in BETA and being heavily worked on - so issues are to expected. 2) The mod is host only - I want it to stay that way. This means I can only guess what's happening on client side unless I can reproduce the issue. There might be an additional (optional) client side mod comming out for those who have issues. 3) Very sorry if you have issues with getting players on your farm - but this can have endless of reasons. Sync errors, firewall blocking, corrupted savefile, wrong setup / installation, another mods, etc. While I give my best to get these issues solved and cleared, reports that contain nothing else than "doesn't work" or "what to do" don't help me or anybody at all and from now on I will be deleting those. This isn't meant disrespectful in any way but every tiny bit of information you can provide helps. How far do you come? Can you provide a screenshot? Are other mods being used? Is the player having the issue joining via Steam fl (via host or another friend?) / Invite Code / IP? Can you provide the logs? How many players already were on the server? and so on. Just ask yourself what Information you can provide to help me - and the more I can help. 4) Only report bugs and issues at the "Bugs" tab or at GitHub https://github.com/Armitxes/StardewValley_UnlimitedPlayers/issues?utf8=?&q= 5) Before you open a new Bug / Issue, quickly check if someone else already reported the issue at the Bugs tab / GitHub. This might even already solve your issue! Otherwise if you have any additional information you can provide, you can do so there.
Thanks a lot for your support and understanding :)
I love that there's a Denylist for certain mods, however, would it be possible to have an Allowlist option instead?
There are so many mods that could potentially cheat, and instead of having to keep an eye out for all mod releases and add them to the denylist, it would be much easier if I could just add allowed mods to an allowedlist instead and everything else is automatically not allowed.
Hi, does anyone know if this mod works with preexisting co-op farms? my friends and i have an 8 player farm but want to be able to have more of us play on the save if we can, and not lose all our progress
ConcernedApe increased Multiplayer size from 4 to 8 in 1.6. I agree this needs an update, but I would expect the need for this mod has reduced by that change alone.
Hello, just wanted to echo the sentiment of wanting an update compatible with the newest version of SDV. I also have a large friend group and would like to include everyone if possible--though understandable if you decide not to do it. I'll be following this mod regardless. Thank you! :)
Hello I tried using CA's method to just edit the config file to set the max number of allowed players but when I open the file there's no option for it. I've tried manually adding the player limit tags to the file but no joy. Any suggestions?
Honestly, this mod seems dead. No update, constant bug with non-host being kicked from server, and host randomly lost connection to steam and fail reconnections. Good thing that this mod can be added anytime you wanted, and only the host needed to, but only do so if necessary. My friends almost lost interest in this game because of the constant disconnection with this mod. Will try be on the lookout for better mod/config than this one.
ConcernedApe himself posted sometime ago that this whole thing can be done without a mod. https://twitter.com/concernedape/status/1395243158460530689?lang=en

Other players will be able to join using the regular client.
Very happy to see active community and developer interest.
Project is being revived.
