About this mod

Adds common and valley quails to coops, quail eggs, and quail mayonnaise. Requires Content Patcher.

Exposition:
After finding all existing quail mods were deprecated, I decided to make my own custom quail mod for a friend. This was a weekend project and my first ever mod for SDV. Feedback and endorsements are appreciated. Enjoy!

This Mod Adds:
  • Common Quail
  • Valley Quail
  • Common and Valley Quail Eggs (Normal and Large)
  • Quail Mayonnaise (Small and Large)
Requires:
  • SMAPI 4.0+
  • Content Patcher (CP)
  • Generic Mod Config Menu (GMCM)
Versions:
  • v1.1.0 - Latest version with best compatibility and stability.
  • v1.0.3a - Optional hotfix of previous v1.0.3 version.
Installation:
  • Vortex - Download via Vortex, install, enable, and deploy.
  • Manual - Extract contents of mod into the Mods folder in your game files.
Uninstalling:
  • Vortex - Disable and remove via Vortex.
  • Manual - Delete Quails for Sharkles from your Mods folder.
  • For versions 1.0.3 or older - Delete the associated version named folder (Standard or Alternate) from your Mods folder.
Compatible Mods:

KNOWN ISSUES:
  • If you are using any version v1.0.3 or under, all of your quail assets (quails, eggs, mayo) will break in v1.1.0. I tried very hard to migrate the assets to mitigate this, but could not manage to make it work. Please see v1.0.3a if you would like to continue using that version until I figure out how to safely move the Ids over.

  • have quail eggs count toward Gus's Giant Omelette quest
