Always Welcome

So, I got pretty frustrated a few times when I really wanted to gift an NPC on a particular day (i.e. birthday, end of the week), but the clock ticked over to just past their front door's lock-out time and BAM!! no visits allowed! I mean come on, it’s not like they weren't home and still awake. All i want to do is give them a cool frog I just found, or a lump of coal... why can't they answer the door! (actually, a door knocking mod would be a pretty cool idea).

Anyway, so while I lack the ability to make that cool door knocking mod, I do have the ability (thanks to Content Patcher) to make NPCs leave their doors 'open' and 'closed' dynamically.

So as described, this mod will allow the player to enter NPC's homes at earlier and later hours once they have a high enough relationship. The number of hearts required, and the open/close hours are all configurable so make sure you have GMCM installed – otherwise the default is 4 hearts at which point you can enter NPC's homes from 6am to 12 midnight.

2.0 Update
  • Optional bedroom door unlock setting for when the player has less than 2 heart with NPCs.

Some things to keep in mind:
  • This mod is compatible with Stardew Valley Expanded, but you'll need to enable that option in GMCM - it's set to off by default.
  • This mod does not affect NPC schedules, so just because you can enter a house or a store doesn't necessarily mean they'll be awake or you'll be able to buy things.
  • This mod edits map tiles to do it's thing, so if you've got other mods that edit the same tiles (doors in this instance) there may be conflicts.
  • I have no idea if this mod is compatible with Android or multiplayer. I'd be grateful if someone could test that for me, but if it's not compatible I'm not sure I know how to fix it. Seems to be compatible with Andriod - thanks for testing LovelyModder
  • Any suggestions you have for improvements or changes may be considered... or they may not.

Also, if I'm not responsive in the comments section please don't take it personally, I've just been burned by over-enthusiastic mod users on Nexus in the past so I tend not to check in that regularly.
