If your really bummed out after this mod broke from 1.5+ and since this still hasn't been updated, i reccomend the Fruit Tree Tweaks! may not be the exact same but allows you to configure some options such as how much fruit can grow min/max and allows you to place trees right beside each other!
This mod doesn't work with Host Trees. It works with other custom fruit trees, but for some reason for that mod is unaffected and i have no idea why that would be.
I really enjoy "Allow_Dangerous_Planting" of fruit trees as there are some used-once-per-story blocked tiles which it allows to be utilized. I know it's called "better FRUIT trees" but is there a possibility for such an option for regular trees to be added also? Or is there perhaps another mod with such a feature?
The unofficial update for this mode (posted here) is not working for me. The only thing I have next to my fruit trees are stone paths, but I keep getting the message overnight that my fruit trees couldn't grow. Really frustrated, because I thought it would work, and I just wasted a lot of money buying fruit trees that I now have to either get rid of, or find another mod that lets me move them.

Fruit trees Tweaks will no longer be supported - see comments in the mod and it is also out of date, so what else do you recommend???
