Crystalized Carrots that you can grow year-round and turn into gems
to get the Carat seed you can buy them from the Dwarf for 500g when you have 5 hearts with them
For the 7 gem Carats use a Carat with a gem in the seed maker to get a gem Carat seed of that type
For Prismatic Carat Seeds there's a very small chance with a Carat and one of each of the gem Carats being combined in the Seed Maker to get a seed or there's a guaranteed recipe of a prismatic shard and one of each of the 7 gem Carats.
All Carats can be turned into gems/quartz in the mini-mill, the Prismatic Carat will turn into Quartz, Gems, or very rarely a Prismatic Shard.
Better quality Carats turn into better quality gems.
