This is a little reskin mod I made, mostly to teach myself how this whole Content Patcher thing works, and hopefully offer a little more variety to the available animal reskins.
This is my second ever mod. I have slightly more idea what I'm doing than with the first one, yay progress! But please let me know if you come across issues, I'm still new to this and would like to make sure I'm learning how to do it right.
At time of writing each animal has 7 skins each. Four of these encompass universal themes that I thought players might appreciate (Vanilly for vanilla-palette animals, the default option for every animal; Wild for color patterns inspired by the animals' wild relatives, usually their ancestral species; Void for void-themed animals; and Fantasy for some more fun designs), and three more that just generally suit the animal.
Edit October 28 2023: Thank you for 2000 unique downloads! And apologies to whoever was number 2000 and may now immediately need to redownload this because I've added 3 new skins for each barn animal (bringing the total to 10 each), featuring two new themes!
Thrive: Why stop at selling your soul to Joja! Turn your animals blue in allegiance to the Joja Empi- er, Family!
Mayo: Are you a fan of the Mayo Content Universe? Do you need more mayo-themed critters than just the horse and chickens? Were the void and Joja animals not cursed enough for you? Well then, turn your barn animals mayo themed today! (If those of you from the Krobus discord who are responsible for the MCU -you know who you are and so do I- are reading this, I hope you're happy) ... Though I must admit, they turned out less cursed and more oddly adorable than intended...
The skin options are as follows
Can't pick just one? There's Alternative Textures compatibility added so you can liven up your herds, and a separate Adopt n' Skin file with just the skins for those who prefer it.
I don't plan on updating this mod again til 1.6 comes out, barring any bugs that need to be addressed sooner. That said, my plan is to give each animal 2 more skins, bringing the total to 12 each, so that one could theoretically have a whole barn of unique variants with my reskin mod. If you have any suggestions for skins or themes you'd like to see, you're welcome to suggest them, but whether I'll go with anyone's ideas only time will tell.
