I have a replacement I wrote with some of the same functionality (infinite leveling, chance to duplicate items based on level), but I'm not sure if it's alright to post for permissions reasons. It's not a full update though and doesn't include the fishing or monster spawning changes that this mod adds.
There's a comment below of the author saying he can't currently update it so he allowed for community sourced updates, from unidarkshin a couple below. Think it'd be awesome if you could post it and thank you if so!
"I am the creator of this mod. I have not had time to keep Level Extender updated. If it would be helpful, I can make it open source so that the community can work on it and you guys can stop expecting a 3 year old mod to keep working.
If this is the case, I would need to assign someone full rights on GitHub. Just let me know." 09 March 2024, 4:05PM by unidarkshin2 I think it's quite safe to say, that he doesn't have something against it if you post your update, but I also can understand if you want to be safe. It would be nice if you could reply if you think about uploading it, because otherwise, I may try my hands at updating it :D.

Although I don't and never participate in mod updates, this mod is really important, and it's the only mod I've seen that shows save torrents when online. I'm very much looking forward to its update.
It would probably be better to just post it on GitHub and give rights to anyone to update it (with whatever provisions you request like credits) as that's how a lot of mods end up getting updated. Waiting for a specific person to come and request to update it might make people more adverse to working on it since the act of making the request makes it feel like a bigger commitment.
At the bottom left there are constant messages when you get something, why is it necessary. Add settings to the config menu if possible. The idea is good, but the messages on the screen spoil the mod, do not forget that other mods also add different things to the screen, and if there are no settings, then one is superimposed on the other.
