Less Ugly Spouse Rooms
(Disclaimer; I do not actually think the original rooms are ugly, I am just very uncreative for names.)

A very simple mod with a slightly long description.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand at long last I have finally escaped from my procrastination corner and actually got around to finishing something I started looong ago.
Can I say the same for you?

Juuuuust kidding...

..we're all friends here..

...right? >.>

What is this mod, and what does it do?

Well, like my other mod I strive to make the world of SDV less ugly! Uhh.. interior wise. Though not that I think it's ugly to begin with! Just.. if someone has a better name please Dm me... No I'm kidding please don't.

This mod revamps the existing vanilla spouse rooms to designs meant to fit with my Less Ugly Town Interiors mod!

Configs go brrr. If you want to toggle any of them with GMCM, heres a quick summary;

  • Default_SR - Default Spouse Rooms based around my town interior!
  • NoWindow_SR - The Spouse Rooms has.. No windows. (Wow who would have guessed!)
  • Optional_SR - Optional Spouse Rooms. Currently only Elliott and Sebastian has this, but there's a short description in both of them to describe what they do.
  • KindaEmpty_SR - Kinda Empty Spouse Rooms. Has the walls and posters of the "NoWindow" version and has a majority of it's furniture removed. Emily's bird perch and Sebastians table are ones that still remains, plus the rugs in the various rooms.
  • VeryEmpty_SR - Very Empty Spouse Rooms. Completely empty and clean, floors and walls are the basic theme to the spouse. No you cannot change the wallpaper.

I go very in-detail for information to those who are interested below, but to those who aren't...

TLDR;

  • DO NOT edit the config in game. It will not apply until you refresh/re-enter your save.
  • If you've married (and divorced) twice in one save and you see a ghost on your spouse room walls, just sleep it off since 'twas only in your imagination.
  • There is a single tile in each spouse room that you can't place anything on. No it's not a bug, that's where the spouses are meant to stand on. It's a vanilla thing so I just left it.

This has the most simplest coding that is known to man, so though I dread it I know there will be bugs and whatnot that I have overlooked. If you've spotted one, feel free to send a bug report AFTER reading below. Bug reports from those who has clearly not read the mod description will be ignored and/or deleted!

Due to my natural biases, it is to be expected that some spouse rooms is and will be more detailed than another. Where some really speaks out for their character and some.. I had little thought of.
If you have any suggestions then I'd love to hear about it! Can't guarantee it'll get added but I'll appreciate it nonetheless. :)

Enjoy!

Very Important, Read Me!

DO NOT EDIT THE CONFIG MID-SAVE
It will NOT apply until you launch your save again. Nothing game-breaking will happen, it's just that if you do change it.. Nothing will happen. Literally. It's not even worth it. I mean I guess you can do it in advanced for your next launch.. but why?

If you are newly wed...
Sometimes you might see flying white mist on your walls. No, it's not a ghost (I think).
Long answer. It's the light from the window of your previous spouse room. I have no clue why it's applying it that way when you've married (and divorced) twice in one save, tried all I could to try and fix it permanently to no avail. You can turn off the windows if it bothers you. Sleeping once makes it go away though!
Short answer. It's a ghost. Just close your eyes and go to bed, it will be gone the next day.

Also, gasp?! The windows turn into night when it's night time?? Who would have known!! (No honestly, who would have known. I don't know if it's working at all). Though I contemplated, seeing as I already did the whole code for it I just crossed my fingers and squeezed it in there. No crashes so far lol.

Known Bugs

  • There is a single tile in each room that you can't place furniture on. Not really a bug, it's a vanilla thing. It's where the spouses stand and I didn't want to risk breaking anything so I just left it how it is.
  • If something is looking funky, just sleep!

Compatibilities

Though I added a ton of configs for individual toggles, I cannot guarantee that similar mods can work alongside it.
Did no testing with other mods for compatibility, or rather incompatibility, so I'll be glad to hear your experiences! Bug reports on the bugs section folks. :DD
