Not everyone will agree with the choices I've made for this cultural mod series. However, my goal has always been to inspire hope, healing, and foster people coming together -- regardless of cultural, political, national, and/or racial history, etc.

After careful deliberation, I've made the difficult decision to disable the comments section of this mod. I understand that I've ruffled some feathers and made some people upset, but given the current state of affairs, I believe it is necessary. Not everyone will be happy with the choices I've made for this mod and some hurt feelings will arise because of it. I'm well aware of that and anticipated it. 

Everyone has a right to their feelings, but I've chosen not to allow abusive or politically charged comments to remain in the comments section. I've made my stance clear as a mod creator and expect others to respect it (even if they don't agree). Arguing in the comments section creates a toxic atompshere that I don't want to permeate into the mod itself, whether that is between myself or others.

Civil discourse about these matters is certainly important, but I believe those conversations are best had outside of the comments section altogether, which is why I have disabled it.

This mod replaces Victor’s wedding sprite with a combination of both traditional Japanese and Korean wedding outfits and includes:

Japanese Traditions:
-Japanese Kuromontsuki haori hakama(kimono):
 (light Haori coat with habotai silk weave and Kamon [family crest embroidered in white])
 (loose Hakama trousers made of sendaihira silk from Sendai, Japan)
-        Haori Himo (short, woven cords attached to the inside seam of the haori collar- often white in colour)
-       Nagagi undergarment/robe
-       White Tabi socks
-       Zori sandals
-       White fan held in the right hand

Korean Traditions:
-       Samo headpiece (with or without flaps), depending on the season, or
-       Iksunkan headpiece, depending on the season


Halfway through making this mod, I was like “Oh crap, I forgot SVE characters have last names!” (“Jenkins” is an English surname, after all), and since I had already decided to make Victor’s outfit a combination of Japanese - Korean traditions, I needed to find a way to tie together all aspects of Victor’s background and heritage (English, Japanese, and Korean).

What I came up with is a little complicated, and I’m not sure if FlashShifter already wrote a backstory for Victor and Olivia; but either way, I think it ties everything we already know together nicely.

Backstory:
Victor’s father (who I’m going to call Eugene/Yuujin 侑神), was born to an English (Anglo-Saxon) father and Japanese mother. However, due to an inherited genetic disorder (X-linked dominant pattern Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis [ALS]), Eugene’s mother passed away when he was very young. After his mother’s death, his father was so overcome by grief that he basically abandoned his son. In the absence of both a mother and now a father, Eugene’s (Japanese) grandfather took over raising him, becoming more a father to him than a grandfather.

Eugene’s grandfather was so important to him, he wore his kimono on his wedding day with Olivia. However, shortly after Victor was born, Eugene was diagnosed with ALS and started to deteriorate rapidly. Even though his time was short, he made sure to spend as much time as possible with his wife and son before it was too late. Victor grew up hearing stories about how wonderful his great-grandfather was, and how he shaped his father into the man he knew.

And even though both Victor’s father and great-grandfather passed away before your wedding, I think he would want to wear something so special on
your big day together. Plus, to tie in his Korean heritage from Olivia’s side of the family (and represent his reconciliation with his mom), he would also
want to wear an heirloom Samo or Iksunkan on his wedding day as well.

This mod will NOT work with any other wedding outfit mods that include Victor. If you want this mod to be compatible with other sprite editing mods, you'll need to either delete Victor's wedding version in those mods or only have this one installed. Having two different mods that change Victor's wedding appearance will not work together and may cause the game to crash.*
