Defense Division – Quick Overview
Part of the “Guild,” the Defense Division focuses on protecting people from monsters in the Stardew Valley world!
Unlike regular Adventurers, who roam freely on epic quests, Defenders stick around to guard villagers and their homes.
Don't get it twisted, Defenders aren't 'Cops'!
Meet the New NPCs
Edward (52) – Obsidian Rank – Defender Instructor
With an optimistic and very joking or sarcastic personality, he easily makes friends with people.
Isis (17) – Bronze Rank – Student
Fun but short‑tempered. Don’t poke her unless you can handle the comeback. Dreams of carving her own path.
Miranda (17) – Bronze Rank – Student
Calm, kind, and patient. Loves studying and taking on new challenges. Wants to be a researcher but is gaining field experience first.
Lee (1) – Trainee Dog
A chubby, playful pup raised by the Guild kennel. Still in training, but one day he’ll be a top sniffer!
Technical Stuff (Triggers)
Trigger 1 – Arrival
The Defense Post starts empty. In 7 days, Edward, Isis, Miranda, and Lee arrive in Pelican Town.
Timing may shift if a festival is near to avoid scheduling conflicts maintaining a logic.
Trigger 2 – Isis & Miranda
They stay for 162 days (1 year, 2 months), then leave after finishing their training.
Trigger 3 – Edward & Lee
They stay for 222 days (2 years) - (2 months, after the girls leave) . Once the trainees leave, Edward “Retired” and waits on paperwork before heading out.
Trigger 4 – Empty Defense Post
The Post remains empty for 78 days (~3 months).
Trigger 5 – Isis Returns
If you became good friends with Isis, she returns at age 21 for a short stay of 57 days (2 months).
She’s passing through while awaiting new orders from the Guild...
Trigger 6 – Final Change
After all Defenders leave or Post marriage of any of the Defenders: If the player completed the Community Center or Joja Warehouse, the post becomes a Wine Cellar after 28 days.
A new shop opens there, with occasional NPC visitors.
