Hello there! :)

Release Notes

Version 3.0 is released. It includes the following updates:

  • BREAKING CHANGE: Takes screenshot on correct day of the week. Fixes screenshots not being taken on the correct day in some cases, such as when specifying certain exact days like Day_X or taking screenshots only on some weekdays instead of all. As in, would take the screenshot the day after whichever one was specified; so if config had "Sundays", it would be taken on Mondays. As of this release, "Sundays" will now cause the screenshot to actually be taken on Sundays, for example. You may need to update your config.json due to this change.
  • Now compatible with Generic Mod Config Menu.
  • New config options for the following global screenshot settings: AuditoryEffects (camera sound), VisualEffects (flash effect), ScreenshotNotifications (popup notification).
  • Added location options for IslandWest, IslandFarmhouse, IslandFieldOffice.

You can stop here if you just needed to know the summary of what changes this release includes. More in-depth details are written below as well as some personal updates.

More Details About The Above Updates:

1) Takes screenshot on correct day of the week
  • It should be fairly easy to confirm whether it is working as expected once you update your config (if needed depending on how you have it setup). If you set the day of the week to "Wednesdays", it should now take it on Wednesdays, for example.
  • If you have your config set to take screenshots every day, then nothing needs to be changed.

2) Generic Mod Config Menu

  • The Generic Mod Config Menu is a mod that adds an in-game UI for easily updating the config for mods.
  • You can now update all (new) global screenshot settings from here as well as the FIRST set of "SnapshotRules" listed in your config.json file.
  • The only thing you can't currently edit directly in the UI Config for snapshot rules is specific days of the month. So if you want a screenshot to only be taken on, for example, Day 28, then you'll have to edit that in the config.json file directly.
  • If you only have one set of "SnapshotRules" then you don't need to worry about anything else noted in this section. Otherwise, please continue.
  • Managing any of the UI Config options in-game will ONLY update your global screenshot settings (e.g. AuditoryEffects; camera noise) and your FIRST set of snapshot rules. It will NOT update/override/reset any other snapshot rules.
  • Note that the "SnapshotRules" list gets sorted automatically (existing behavior; not new), so even if you try to put a specific rule *first* in the list, depending on your setup it *may* or may not become out of order when you launch the game. In the future I hope to update this to provide a better experience, but for the introduction of being able to use Generic Mod Config Menu for this mod, this is how it works. If you need to add/edit any additional rules, you'll need to do so directly in the config.json file.

3) New config options

  • AuditoryEffects - Global setting (applies to all screenshots). Whether a camera sound plays whenever a screenshot is taken. Default value is `true`. Options are `true` or `false`.
  • VisualEffects - Global setting (applies to all screenshots). Whether the screen flashes whenever a screenshot is taken. Default value is `true`. Options are `true` or `false`.
  • ScreenshotNotifications - Global setting (applies to all screenshots). Whether a notification is displayed whenever a screenshot is taken. Default value is `true`. Options are `true` or `false`.

4) New location options

  • Nothing else to add here, just finally added those locations as options for the config (IslandWest, IslandFarmhouse, IslandFieldOffice).

Personal Updates

I've been away from Stardew Valley and modding for quite some time, but I'm excited to finally be back! I was so grateful to find that this mod has managed to continue to function okay over the last couple of years (as opposed to just being completely broken), even though it wasn't being actively maintained.

I know there are various bugs reported and some old feature requests that were never addressed. My main focus for the next few releases will be to address reported bugs for the PC version of the mod, as well as update the Android version to get it back to a working state again, since it sounds like it's currently completely broken (wasn't *that* lucky unfortunately). After that, I hope to continue addressing any other bugs and start introducing improvements and any new features that would be most useful.

Long-term, I also hope to maintain the other mod I've published, Cozy Clothing. I would like to do the same as far as addressing bugs first and then working on most useful and/or fun new features.

I don't see myself creating any new mods anytime soon, since I'll be focused on the current two for a while.

I am not committing to frequent or scheduled releases, but just planning to get back into maintaining these mods in my spare time as I'm able to. Life is busier in some seasons than others, but I do plan to do releases more often than I have been lately, at least - as in, more than just once every two or three years (haha).

Some quick life updates: Here's some of what's been keeping me busy while I was away! I wrapped up college, been working full-time as a software engineer for a few years now, and I also married the love of my life this year :).

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to make your experience with this mod better. Thanks for your support and happy farming! <3
