Whoops forgot I had a volunteer event all weekend and didn't have anything written up for the normal day.

Got slightly less done than I wanted for my challenge but that's because I worked too hard on other things I couldn't use for it.

Characters

Continuing with the personality changes I started last week, I started working on Emily's change into Haley's personality as well as Abigail's change into a more "wifely" individual. I'm not sure if Emily's would be a permanent change option like Haley's half would be, or if it would just be part of a Saloon show, hence why I stopped part way into the sprites.

I also began reworking the sprites for being in trance to fit better with the new portrait system in 1.6. Before, they were individual sprites that were added onto the end of the existing sprites, which caused a bunch of compatibility issues. Now they will be entirely separate sheets that will act like new outfits within the code. This way they won't interfere with HD portrait mods (hopefully) and can be more easily replaced with different sprites if one so desires. It also makes it easier for me to combine trances with different outfits, like with Emily's Joja outfit.
Note: If anyone was really excited about old sprite previews that had the characters clothed with nothing but a collar and noticed a lack of it here, I just want to reassure you it's not gone, but it will be a whole sprite sheet later when that trigger is added.

Maps

I've slowly been working on adding new tiles to make Kris's house and shop look a bit more unique, but in addition to that I've also been adding some for another section I'll add in later (read: not in the next update). This will be where the player will encounter Hamera, the demon character I've teased in a few other posts

The cave at the top will also be where the new monsters I've been working on will be added into. I've begun work on those tiles at the same time, but I'm still not really that great at pixel backgrounds so bare with me as I get that looking good.

Code

I've still been mostly stalled on the coding part until after 1.6 releases, especially after I realized that the version of the programming language will be changed so I can't just ignore the assets and start moving the rest of the code over. This still hasn't stopped me and I've begun a new project, started moving some of the code and found some nice music to put on to drown out the darkest screams from the deepest recesses of my mind begging me not to write code I can't test. It's also been helpful in forcing me to write comments whenever I find something that I forgot what it does. I was hoping I could add in some extra things, like new temporary behavior when in trance, before again realizing I can't test anything. This is the actual reason I wasn't able to do as much as I wanted, since I spent about half a day figuring out the code before realizing why I shouldn't use music to ignore my gut instincts.

Next time hopefully I will have more pretty pictures of hypnotized villagers and fewer apologies for spending half of my free time on things I can't physically see or show until I'm ready to release the next update.
