"SpellForce 2: Empire of the Shadowtrail" custom campaign mod for SpellForce 2: DotP has reached the finish line! The most recent version (v5.5) is now officially considered as a stable and final version of this mod. The whole developing process took around 4 years, starting from 2015 to 2019. The first release (v1.0) was scheduled to be released on 2015, but later was delayed to 2016 July. First version consisted of 8 new single-player maps, which included new quests, engaging storyline and intense battles against armies of the enemy. After the first release, several major updates had been spawned to improve the aspects of the mod. It added new maps for single-player and multi game modes, new quests, fixed bugs and more. The most recent update consisted of 11 new maps with new quests, cutscenes and introduced some new storylines to broaden the lore of the game. The update had also brought a brand new soundtrack and some minor cosmetic changes to the game.
