ABOUT THE MOD:
This mod replaces over 240 lines of chatter and battle grunts. It includes subtitles that have been changed to the new dialogue, improved volume, and lore-friendly encounters against specific opponents.
The goal of this mod is to restore as much of Tara Platt's original performance from SC4 as possible). I also played around with her SC6 lines and shuffled them around so they make more sense overall. It's a complete overhaul of the character that tones down the use of Japanese terminology as that was the case with the series before. This can also be seen as an improved version based on HarmonyofSirius's work.
The mod makes Setsuka sound more assertive and skillful, rather than the insecure but revenge-obsessed incarnation present in SC6. There are two versions of this mod, although they are rather similar. Version A is the default version of my mod while Version B adds two new intros/outros and completely changes what she says at the end of her Critical Edge move. It's just a matter of taste, really.
This mod is compatible with Vodkaverse.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
For those who are curious here are some extra bits of information in regard to this mod:
- used as many of her SC4 lines as possible, including unused ones;
- replaced existing re-used quotes with the ones present in SC4;
- used Kari Wahlgren's original grunts from SC3, which sound far better than what we got in SC6;
- adjusted the volume and matched the lip sync the best I could;
- re-adjusted her Soul Charge quotes so she doesn't sound like a complete asshole towards the younger character;
- it only affects the ENGLISH version of the character;
- VEGAS Pro 17 was used for all the editing, cutting, fixing, and rendering while Eternity Audio Tool was there for the file replacements;
- some liberties were taken when it comes to a few of the files in order to fix errors related to the way the game handles audio in general;
HOW TO INSTALL:
In order to install this mod, you must create a folder called "~mods" located in STEAM/steamapps/common/SoulcaliburVI/Content/Paks and place the file in that folder you just created. You can then create sub-folders to organize your stuff better. To uninstall the mod, simply delete the file in question.
Her outfit was released as official DLC and is available to all players who own her. However, I still recommend getting the mod manager known as VODKALIBUR. It's a pretty simple process and opens a door to many possibilities in regard to modding and Custom DLC (CDLC). I would also recommend joining the unofficial modding Discord server for help and more.
