I noticed how in the reveal trailer for Sonic Colors Ultimate, the colors in Tropical Resort were washed out, looking much duller than on the Wii. I decided to port Act 1 as proof that you can upgrade the stage to HD while leaving the visuals close to how they were on Wii: bright and colorful. No offense Blind Squirrel Entertainment.
I managed to keep vertex colors intact, and I even rendered SSGI (Spherical Gaussian Global Illumination) and SHLF (Spherical Harmonic Light Field), using Skyth's HedgeGI tool. The SHLF isn't exactly perfect, but I decided to do a custom one anyway.
Anyways, outside of porting the terrain, this mod has had the smoothest production out of all the other ones I've worked on. I made sure to adjust the setdata to accommodate the fact that Forces doesn't have a traditional drill wisp, meaning the entire bottom half of the 2D section has essentially been blocked off. Splines have been ported straight from Colors as well.
Now, I had to delete a mesh from the skybox since it wasn't showing up properly, but other than that it's there.
