SoFPX has arrived. Merging the best of the original SoF1 game with the excellence of the SoF2 engine. Gameplay, maps, it's all here. Whether you're a CTF player, or a DM player, or you like the standard INF/DEM gametypes, there is something here for YOU! FEATURES INCLUDE: GAMEPLAY: Faster running speed (Identical to SoF1) Strafejumps enabled (Further, faster, no pause) ULTIMATE M590 Shotgun (Based around SoF1, meaning new skin, 8 shells firing 12 pellets, faster firing rate, faster reload rate, slightly more accurate, slightly shorter range, damage balanced in line with these changes) TNT Explosive added (Based around SoF1's C4) Instant Grenade/Flash/Explosive attacks (Grenades work like SoF1, can be thrown instantly without switching from your current weapon, frag grenade explodes on impact, counter displayed under the health bar showing grenades left) Weapon Stay (Meaning weapons do not disappear after they have been picked up, they stay for someone else, unless they were dropped - please note SoF1's 'weapon drop' cheat will not work! - AWESOME feature for DM/TDM, and of course CTFX) Female skins added to every team (making six in each, females use a new 'radio' bindlist, use the male hitbox for fair play, 3 new skins added) Console, visual and audible notification of HEADSHOTS ("Why did I die so quickly?" etc.) Crosshairs change to green for friendly targets, red for enemy targets (like SoF1) Skins can be reselected/reviewed after map changes Rocket launcher and grenade launcher disabled by default NEW MAPS: IRQCTFX - Wastelands (ctfx ctf) Based on SoF1's IRQCTF1 JPNCTFX - Parking (ctfx ctf) Based on SoF1's JPNCTF1 NYCCTFX - Gangland (ctfx ctf) Based on SoF1's NYCCTF1 GERCTFX Castle Kill (ctfx ctf) Based on SoF1's GERCTF1 SUDCTFX Flag Frag (ctfx ctf) Based on SoF1's SUDCTF1 DUSPX - Dust (ctfx ctf tdm elim inf dem) A faithful conversion of Counter-Strike's de_dust, scaled to the original - supports ALL gametypes NEW GAMETYPE: CTFX (CTF PhoeniX) based around SoF1's classic CTF mode Your flag must be at home to capture the enemy's You can reclaim your flag yourself 15 points for a capture, 2 points for a flag return Flagcarrier generates a local siren to alert their location Flagcarrier generates a 'glow' to prevent hiding in dark corners EFFECTS CHANGES: You can use your coloured name in team games Corpses can be damaged/dismembered immediately after death ('gibbable' corpses, client-side effect which can be enabled or disabled, doesn't affect the server, doesn't prevent shots hitting living players, enabled by default) Many improved/familiar sounds fine-tuned in Wavelab Many improved/familiar graphics fine-tuned in Photoshop Slightly quieter footsteps NEW OPTIONAL FEATURES Infinite Ammo Mode (optional, disabled by default) InstaGib Mode (optional, disabled by default, only the M590 Shotgun is affected) Disable shooting while leaning (optional, disabled by default) INTERFACE CHANGES: New cvars/binds built into the menu system MOD filter on the serverlist to easily locate SoFPX servers Small tweaks to layout Of course, the game has all the benefits of PunkBuster support, weapon balances have been maintained (only the M590 has been radically altered, but is balanced all the same), and there is a full manual included which covers every point in detail, including a Tweak Guide to get you started. A dedicated server config is included as an example, along with the default CTFX mapcycle. This SoF2 modification has ongoing support, and Public Beta 1.0 is, in some ways, just the beginning. Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

I put this one together mainly as some thought the partial wooden stock and hazard pattern (or construction tape as some insisted lol) was a bit out of place. Work done mainly on the front barrel, grip and stock. Not much else was done in the main body, except that I removed the patterns and added some contrast. It's got a new color scheme I was experimenting with, with dark/light contrasts (I think?). Uses the same scope as the one on the Stinger. The third and final skin from SuperFly, in his Ground Zero weapon skin pack, more may follow? go give it a try and see what you think

    TB High Wire

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

A very tall and big map. This map has a street level and a bunch of sky scrapers that span very high. They have ladders on the side as well as platforms around them at different hights. You can make it all the way up to the top. And its a good 2/3 sec drop from the top...WooHoo I would say that you really want about 8-15 people on here to make sure you have lots of moving targets. The map gets its name from have wires going from building to building that you can run accross. This map is a great sniping map. Great for the sig as well. Could be hard for the M4 and AK74. Well, I hope that you enjoy this map. I know I did.

We've made a small change to the site today to inform any users whose emails are "bouncing" that they need to update their email records.

A bounced email is basically an email we've sent you and then received back saying that the email is undeliverable.

Bounced emails are bad for us as they are expensive to deal with on our email delivery platform and ultimately, if you are using the wrong email address or an email address that does not work/exist any more then you will n...

  • Limited Vortex alpha release today, full release soon

    Hello everyone,

For over a year now we've been working on a mod manager to replace the ailing Nexus Mod Manager. The premise was simple, attempt to combine the simplicity of the Nexus Mod Manager with the advanced functionality of Mod Organizer and create something that is accessible to all types of modders. Back in May of 2017 we named this replacement "Vortex" and we aimed for a January 2018 release date.

With that in mind, the full release of Vortex is alm...

  • We're Hiring: Vortex developer

June 2018: We're currently not hiring for this position.

Last year we set up our first office for Nexus Mods and began the process of relocating as many of the current staff as possible into the new environment.

As part of this process, we now have a job opening at Nexus Mods working on our Vortex software with Tannin, which is replacing the Nexus Mod Manager.

This position is based in our offices in Exeter in the UK, which I know limits our ...

  • Year in review and looking forward

A belated Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everybody!

We've been quiet in our news section recently as we've been busily working away on the site redesign and Vortex development, but the new year brings the perfect chance to update you on what happened last year and what we're working on in 2018.

    2017 in numbers

We welcomed 1,612,142 new users to Nexus Mods in 2017, or to put it another way, a new member joined Nexus Mods every 20 seconds. We now ...

  • Mod Author Donation System

While a few of the developers continue to work on the new site design, fixing up bugs, improving page load time performance and responding to useful critiques and suggested improvements to the UI and UX from users, I wanted to take some time out to announce a new feature that a few of our other developers are currently working on that we plan to launch in the first quarter of 2018. A new year's resolution of sorts, if you will.

The new functionality I want to talk about today is...

  • PC Modding Race Giveaway! We have tons of games and gear to give away from GOG.com, CORSAIR, and MSI!

In celebration of our new site design, we have teamed up with GOG.com, CORSAIR, MSI, and PCMasterRace to share our love for PC gaming worldwide through a massive giveaway! Before we get into the juicy details though, I wanted to take a quick trip down memory lane and look at some of the previous designs we've used at Nexus Mods before reaching this point.

Since its initial founding in 2001, Nexus Mods has been through many incarnations. It all started with Morrowind Chronicles, a fan...

  • Redesign Launch - Stage 2 in progress

We're currently implementing stage 2 of our redesign soft launch process and as such, you might experience a few oddities and/or get thrown about a bit between the old and new designs as we gradually implement the changes and stress test things.

Stage 2 is moving the nexusmods.com domain over to the new design so by default, users will be on the new design. During this time we're still allowing users to access the old website design via https://old.nexusmods.com.

    If durin...

  • An update on Vortex development

It's time for a Vortex development update!

Since our last news post back in May we have setup a focus group of around 30 individuals who have been given access to an early build alpha of Vortex using a rudimentary design and UX flow. Tannin has been working with these users, taking on their feedback and patching up bugs that have been found over the past couple of months. At this stage, the core functionality is all done and now it's a matter of rounding off any rough ed...
