Overview
There are not many Pre-Rendered Videos in this game. It seems like the videos were transcoded or just moved over from Unity to UE with the v3.0+ update. Most of the videos do not look terrible, but are somewhat bitrate starved. The video player's FPS is uncapped and is correlating to the user's defined refresh rate (if v-sync is on), or whatever FPS limit the user has imposed on the game. However, the UE's stock player is used in this game, therefore, locking the playback FPS internally to 60 FPS.

The release offers the following:
  • 4K 60 FPS Videos [H264] | File size: ~280 MB.
  • 4K 60 FPS Videos [HEVC, codec is included] | File size: ~140 MB.

Requirements & Notes
  • If using HEVC version, you will need to have Win10 or newer installed. This is because prior to Windows 10, you could not natively play back HEVC without needing a third-party video player. I believe UE's stock player relies on native codec support that Windows has.
    • See inside the archive for a folder called “[REQUIRED] HEVC Codec”, for the appx to install. It is the same one used for Blair Witch and NieR Replicant™ ver.1.224744871….
    • HEVC will slightly increase the CPU usage when playing back videos.
  • Requires build v3.0.0 or newer, this is the update that transitioned the game from Unity to Unreal Engine. Newer game updates will not affect the videos in any way, unless Steam verified the game files and have replaced them with the stock videos.
  • Please ensure you have the FPS cap to at least 60 FPS. Any lower might cause a slow-motion effect when playing back the videos.
  • These videos can be safely played back on lower or higher resolution monitors or TVs without having scaling issues.
