I think there is one way you can introduce One Handed Thrust Animations for your setup and still use the ones from here.
The Animated Armory DAR version mod. It also includes some guides how you can do it yourself. So you could either limit that to 1Handed Swords only or install the Mod and replace the Animation HKX files with the ones provided here.
I'm not interested in implementing any thrust attacks with these animations, feel free to follow 0Outcast's instructions or to simply avoid downloading if our preferences don't align, thank you.
I'm kinda glad you replaced the reverse grip power attack. I know you say you aren't going for realism, and I don't even know what realistic melee combat looks like personally, but I feel that it really doesn't make any sense just as a human who has ever used tools, lol. Like, reverse grip swing is so awkward. I think a reverse grip only makes sense for, like, a downward thrust, stabbing something beneath you and putting your whole both weight into it. For a slashing move, it would feel really awkward, I think.
The only thing that irks me slightly is the fact that the shield ends up way behind your back rather than staying in front of you where it's actually useful. But game mechanics take precedent and raising the shield will instantly bring up anyway so w/e. Just a tiny nitpick :P
Loving this work. Using a bunch of your other animation mods because they really are a cut above, pardon the pun.
I understand, though the animations are grounded, I'm not going for HEMA or realism, the shield in front wouldn't really work in Skyrim since the attack will clip right through the shield and the opponent will take full damage.

This will make sure that only swords trigger the animation you put in the folder with this _conditions.txt
(Note: The IsActorBase("Skyrim.esm" | 0X000007) makes it player only, feel free to edit out that line)
