I'm very proud to present:

Ivarstead is a small village, at the base of Skyrim's largest mountain. The Dragonborn will pass through this holy site in their pilgrimage to High Hrothgar, and answer the summons of the Greybeards.

Before, this village was two farmhouses, a mill, and an inn. Now, it is a cozy hamlet, complete with a town square, chapel, cemetery, and guard tower.

This mod replaces the architectural style of Ivarstead using the assets of JPSteel's Cities of the North: Falkreath and Northern Roads. It also makes use of assets from Kelretu's modder's resource, and Mandragorasprouts' Statue of Mara. Thank you to all of these authors for their generous open permissions, and for inspiring me to make my own projects.

You'll meet several new, fully voiced NPCs, including a general goods merchant, baker, blacksmith, priest, and grave digger. Each one has their own routine, and most reuse dialogue from the original game. One character, Sorik, is uniquely voiced using generative artificial intelligence.

They are not required, but this mod contains add-ons for, and is best used with, Lux, Northern Roads, and Traverse the Ulvenwald. The screenshots above use these add-ons, which are available in the patch collection on the download page.

I also recommend you use this mod on a new save, and regenerate LODs in order to see the town from far away.

Here's a list of what's in the patch collection:

  • A Cat's Life - Moves the little cat table to beside the general goods store, and some markers.
  • AI Overhaul - Moves idle markers to new interiors, and some external markers to the town square.
  • Alternate Start Live Another Life - Moves alternate start position for Vilemyr Inn to new interior.
  • Amulet Evangelism - Enables priest NPC to sell amulets of Mara.
  • Atlas Map Markers / CoMap - Adds map markers for new shops and structures. Built for the MCM version of the mod, with automatic COMAP v.4 support.
  • Candlehearth - Fixes the position of the player-rented bed and chest in the Vilemyr Inn.
  • Cheesemod for Everyone - Moves cheese to new inn interior.
  • Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul - Moves ingredients to new interiors.
  • Convenient Carriages - Moves carriage to prevent clipping with the ground and lumber mill. Not tested with Northern Roads.
  • Drinking Fountains - Moves the drinking fountain position to beside the farmers' house.
  • eFPS - Additional occlusion edits for eFPS users. Thank you to J3w3ls for kindly offering this patch.
  • Embers XD - Fixes fireplaces in new interiors.
  • Fabled Forest - Slightly adjusts tree positions.
  • Farmhouse Chimneys - Moves chimneys to new houses.
  • Gourmet - Moves the added Vilemyr Inn cooking pot to the new interior.
  • Immersive Laundry - Adjusts laundry positions to match new exterior.
  • Interesting NPCs - Moves NPCs to new inn interior. Adjusts positions of bedrolls and markers near Narfi's house.
  • JK's Skyrim - Comes in two flavors. One preserves some JK elements, and the other rips all Ivarstead edits out of JK's Skyrim.
  • Keep It Clean - Moves trapdoor to new inn interior.
  • Landscape and Water Fixes - Forwards ownership records for crops.
  • Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods - Forwards landscape records.
  • Lanterns of Skyrim II - Adjusts lantern positions, adds new lanterns.
  • Legacy of the Dragonborn - Moves gemstone to new farm interior. Moves marker to new inn interior.
  • Lux - Special add-on compatibility patch for Lux. New Lux interiors for all of Ivarstead's new buildings, and refinished interiors for its old ones. Highly recommended.
  • Medieval Lanterns of Skyrim - Adjusts lantern positions, adds new lanterns.
  • Mihail's Ravens and Crows - Moves crows so they won't float. Adds a few new crows to new houses.
  • Northern Roads - Special add-on compatibility patch for Northern Roads. Enjoy a new wooden bridge and light Nordic clutter added around the city. Highly recommended.
  • Northern Roads / Lux Via Combo - For those of you who, like me, are psychos that use both. Fixes ground, moves road sign slightly.
  • The Notice Board - Adjusts position of the notice board.
  • Populated Towns and Cities LITE - Move NPC to new interior, adjusts marker positions.
  • Spaghetti's AIO - Disables some conflicting clutter. Some clutter is preserved.
  • Spaghetti's Ivarstead - Disables some conflicting clutter. Some clutter is preserved.
  • Traverse the Ulvenwald - Special add-on compatibility patch for Traverse the Ulvenwald. Make your Ivarstead lush with oak and sycamore trees.
  • Wait Carriage in Towns - Moves bench location to outside new inn exterior.
Here's a list of what doesn't require a patch:
  • Alternate Perspective
  • Autumngate
  • Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul
  • Lux Orbis
  • Lux Via
  • Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch
