Now this is interesting. So ChapoGPT will take the persona of the NPC and basically continue random situations and conversations on the fly, in character?
This could really be a huge sign of what AI NPC-human interactions could become. I mean, you could technically end up in a realistic long-term relationship almost like that of another human, with an NPC character, but in a single player game!
Imagine getting Lydia, going on adventures with her, having small chat, but eventually it turns into a romance and every time you go back into the game she's there to continue the conversation realistically. No more cardboard repeating the same tired lines. Almost scary when you think about it.
I can never go back to taking 'regular NPCs' seriously in a game after this. My expectations for digital interaction have totally changed. And with the larger context windows, rudimentary memory/diary/backstory... yeah. It's fantastic.
