Forged in secrecy by a renegade blacksmith with ties to the Dark Brotherhood, the dagger known only as the "Skull Dagger", has taken many lives of both those who are seen as evil and innocent. It deviates from the traditional assassination tools, designed to be both a symbol of defiance and an instrument of terror.
The Skull Dagger now resides within the Dark Brotherhood, displayed on top of a skull at the sanctuary's entryway — a stark warning to those who dare to wield it. The skull into which the dagger is driven once belonged to its previous wielder, serving as a reminder of the weapon's grim history and the dreadful fate that awaits those who dare to take it up.
