Hello everyone! Thank you for all the feedback and voice offers etc, never thought this would become as popular as it is! I'm currently unable to make any changes to the mod as my computer is in a state of disrepair (Cannot use CK atm) but know that I've read and considered all of your requests and suggestions
Some of you seem to have some minor problems with this and Immersive College of Winterhold, and I'd love to see my own mod and ICoW fully compatible in the future but I just don't have the means to address the issue properly.
In the meantime I hope you find this mod useful and I still recommend using Magical College of Winterhold with this one to put some life in the College!
Hi everyone. I'm going to be helping VorpalRunner with updating this mod. :)
Vorpal and I have plans to continue to add to improve this mod. I'll likely set up a road map soon similar to the one I'm maintaining for my other College mods. In the mean time, please feel free to join Vorpal and me on my little Discord server.
hi! i really love this mod, but i was wondering if this would be compatible with college of winterhold quest expansion? i don't see why it wouldn't be, but i just wanted to ask to make sure, in case there was a patch or anything floating around.
Got an issue with some of these added NPCs being able to detect me while they are sleeping or facing another direction. They can detect me through walls, while invisible, etc.
SetAV Blindness does not affect this issue, so it would seem that either there is some other AV controlling this, or a mod script.
I don't see any comments here for a long time but I'm going to throw it out anyway. I have black faces and I'm a TES5VREdit n00b trying to create a patch but I see no tint layers for Myvrana Giladren, Nelysa, Odaimar who show the dark face symptom.
I don't know exactly how it happens, but when Amanra's squad decide to practice healing in the basement of Obscure's College, the heals (think it's Amanra's Grand Healing AOE specifically) can cause the training ghost to try to murder you. You're still protected by the sparring mechanic, but it's really annoying if you're just trying to craft or talk to one of the vanilla instructors or something not involving violence.
I'm having a serious issue with the NPC pathing with the mod installed. They all end up moving upstairs in the Arcanaeum but get stuck walking into walls constantly. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Little by little I'm trying to install mods to make sense of this College. It just needed a little more life. Seriously... three students plus your own dragonborn was a real shame. Thank you so much for your mod!
Does anyone have the patch to be able to use this mod with Obscure's College? I can't find it and LOOT says that I need the patch, I don't remember if it was there during the installation of the Obscure's mod and I'm afraid that if I reinstall to be able to apply the patch my game will break u.u
Yes, the problem is that I discovered the Immersive College NPCs mod after installing Obscure's, and I don't think it's safe to try to uninstall and reinstall it in order to update the fomod to get the patch :/
If the information is still desired... Just using Reinstall to run the FOMOD again should be safe if you haven't made edits directly to any of OCW's bits. (Reinstall might overwrite the files/edits back to default.) If you're looking to touch as few files as possible, you should be able to just pluck the ICN patch from the "patch" folder of OCW's original download/archive and add the patch to OCW's active mod folder manually. There are a number of approaches to achieving that end goal, but the basic premise is:
1.) Find and open OCW's original .7z archive. You should be able to find it in your manager's Downloads (it might be hidden) or wherever your manager keeps its data. (Just doing a new Manual download and opening the archive from your computer's Downloads folder works too; as long as you can find the whole .7z archive.) 2.) Copy just the OCW_ICNs_OE_FEPatch.esp* patch file from OCW's .7z archive to somewhere outside of the archive. Desktop will work fine, doesn't matter where. 3.) Get your mod manager to recognize the .esp patch file in your load order. This is where the specifics vary slightly. Assuming you're using Vortex/MO2: Open OCW's active mod folder from your manager (e.g. right-click OCW and select "Open in Explorer" in MO2) and just drop the .esp patch file into wherever all of OCW's other active patches are - likely the main directory. LOOT should then see the .esp and add it to your Plugins list the next time LOOT sorts. You'll probably need to toggle the newly-added .esp on/Active. (You could technically drop it into Skyrim's "Data" folder directly, but it'd only show up in the Plugins list - not as a managed mod - which can be hazardous if forgotten about.)
TL;DR: Rip the patch from original archive, slap it into the main directory of your active OCW installation. Run LOOT and activate the plugin in your list if needed. I would recommend going indoors somewhere far away from the College / Winterhold before activating the patch, just to be extra safe. Since ICN is just some new NPCs in the world, it might be nearly compatible even without a patch. Might see some odd wandering, but nothing game-breaking. (*: It's the only ICN patch in there, but if I'm wrong about this then LOOT will say the file's missing a master or is otherwise dependent upon some additional mod, in which case this particular patch file may not be the solution you're looking for.)
Thank you so much! I was able to extract the patch from the original OCW file, pasted it along with the other patches, then updated LOOT, and activated the plugin in Vortex, the message that I didn't have the patch active in LOOT disappeared, so I guess everything is done now working, thanks for taking the time to help me, I suppose that if something similar happens one day, the same method should work, as long as it is not a patch of a mod that alters many things :)
